  1. So thought I would share my first attempt at painting a miniature on here. I decided that I should get some practice in before my massive kickstarter order comes in next month, so I got a Bones hydra at my local hobby shop. The majority of the paint on this is the cheap Apple Barrel stuff, thinned with water, and lastly I did a light wash of Army Painter soft tone over the whole thing. I watched a good number of painting tutorials on YouTube before attempting this. I may have overhighlighted it a bit; I think I ended up doing about 5 different shades of green by mixing a light and dark green in various ratios working my from dark to light. Anyway, any comments and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated. I will also mention that I painted this a few weeks ago and have since gotten some Reaper and Vallejo paints, which I have been experimenting with this weekend, and I have to say that they are nicer than the craft paints. I'll upload some pics from different angles later.
