    25th anniversary Dain Deepaxe

All of the sculpts from the 25th anniversary miniatures were great. All of them amazingly painted. But there was one of them which palette I didn't really liked... too much color :d So I painted my Dain Deepaxe with a sober palette.

    92761: Heroes and Villains

This is a Bones model from the second Bones Kickstarter. I'm pretty sure he's a villain. I wasn't quite sure what was going on with this guy's head. It appears to be a skull with thin bits of flesh remaining, like Christian Bale in the Machinist, so I turned him into some kind of angry zombie.
  5. You know how I'm always asking for a deserty barbariany roguey elf wielding a spiked chain? This is what happens when you don't give it to me, sculptors and companies. I ruin your sculpts. In this case, Bobby Jackson's Irith, Deathseeker Hero. ~10 years ago, I created a character concept, a barbarian rogue assassin from a desert moon. Probably not that great an idea; whatever. I loved it. Didn't wind up getting to play him, but the name became my main Internet handle for a long time, and I always kept the concept in mind. This past winter I joined a game, decided he'd be a perfect fit, and made him anew. Bought a mini to mod to represent him at the table! But again didn't get to play him. Alas. But I had a mini for him this time. I'm not in love with the figure, but it seemed like a good one for converting. And it was close as I could get on the look. I guess. I'm pretty happy with how he turned out, honestly. I feel like I could've done a lot worse. I cut off the original's weapons. I used jewelry chain for the chain, a hacked-up jewelry bit bead thingy for the spike, and another jewelry bead thingy for the ball. Drilled out hands, wound up having to cut them, and closed them again over the chain. Pretty simple, pretty ghetto, but here we be. Right eye turned out better than the left, I thought. I had him finished a while ago, but I was waiting on a base. It's a desert base from Micro Arts Studio. Thought it fit the theme pretty well. Thanks for looking!

Drago Voss from the Bones I Heroes Set

This past weekend I completed the Drago Voss (77093) figure from the Bones I "Heroes" set. I wasn't inspired to any particular paint scheme for this figure, so I thought I'd use him to experiment on; doing colored armor on him, and doing him mainly in a single color theme. I'm pleased with the results. He actually turned out better than I had anticipated. For the complete write-up on how I painted him see:http://allbonesabout.blogspot.com/2015/08/hero-with-2-weapons-figure-167-of-265.html
  7. I have started to paint some big 54mm and 1/6 scale minis. To ensure that I get something finished, I will now start to paint a 28mm too. Here is Bonnie Prepped and based for priming.

    92759 Anti Paladin Hero/Villain

The last of my Hero/Villain set. This one is a no brainer. I imagine instead of a Holy Avenger this Anti Paladin got a Demon Shield. It's her side kick. Talks to her, has its own personality, etc. That's why I painted it a completely different color than her. I have a double of this mini minus the ax arm. I think i'll make it a Half Orc.

    92760 Hero or Villain

Not sure if this guy is supposed to be a Hero or a Villain. Either way I imagine he's pretty punctual.

    Forgeworld Fimir

This is a fimir from Forgeworld. I bought a couple for use with the Hero Quest game (I play with my brothers kids). It was the game which got me hooked on the hobby as well back in the day, so the nostalgia vibes are high. ^^ Thought I'd post it here, too. As there was a discussion about painting with washes/glazes, and this miniature is painted that way. Based white, then hit with washes until the correct darkness levels were achieved: Here it was in progress: This is a new photo. It's seen a lot of use on the tabletop since the time it was painted early last year, and shows some flaking here and there:
  11. Used as the male counterpart in my Hero Quest project. :)
  12. Female dwarves are hard to find. Especially in the good quality that Reaper has made. This is my female and male version of the Hero Quest dwarf:

    02233: Dantrag of Heimdall

A replacement hero for Hero Quest: (I have forgotten the name of the female model next to him. If anyone knows, that would be helpful.) Edit: The Red Sonja look-a-like at his side, is 03409: Nadia of the Blade.
