Good Friday everyone, With the forthcoming release of the Bones version of Viridius the Great Dragon on December 17, it is a pleasure for me to unveil today my work on a pewter version of this winged giant. Here it is, 10021 Viridius protector of the Woodspike forest sculpted by talented Jason Wiebe. As you can see, there was enough space behind its frilled head to add horns. So, I made a set of giant goat-like horns and a set of stag antlers. The horns and antlers have a metal armature “finishing nail” and they are held in place by magnets that I glued in holes I drilled in the dr

Just finished the boar demon from bones II. I thought it would be cool for him to have a supernatural demonic illness, hence the glowing sores. Loved painting this guy. The bones material really lends itself to these larger figures. Hope you like!

My kids got this for me for Father's Day from the FLGS. The catalog shown below was in the box and has a date of 2004.

Another bigger mini from me. I'm still getting used to painting miniatures this size. I didn't really go for anything too wild here though. A pretty traditional color scheme, I think. Still trying to nail something I'd call tabletop quality, though I think this fits the bill okay. I like how my serpent-eye effect turned out. I think if I painted another one of these guys I'd do something different with the coloration, maybe duller scale colors, as if he sunned himself a lot or something. I also wouldn't have assembled it first (I bought him a long time ago and put him together and just started

Finished the balor fire demon that my roommate got from his Bones II fulfillment that I started forever ago tonight. There are some things I could do to make him better, but honestly I'm kind of sick of looking at him and painting over him. I've never painted anything this size before. I learned quite a bit. Like that I should probably paint before assembling (which fills me with dread because I already assembled the minotaur demon and I want to paint him too). Anyway, I haven't seen many of this guy painted yet. He's a fun sculpt I think. I was going for sort of lightning runes on his sword,

I've actually been working on this off and on since my roommate's Bones II fulfillment box arrived. I've never painted anything this size before. It's been daunting, honestly. I also realize I should have painted the pieces separately before I glued him together. Which brings up a question: good way to pull apart pre-assembled Bones? Some that showed up aren't glued all that well and will be a nightmare to paint assembled. I haven't found a good advice source for how to do this (though admittedly I haven't combed through here completely).

Next time you are opening up a can of food, or when buying canned goods, measure the lid, There is a good chance it will be 3" or 4" across. To get that lid ready to be a base for a big miniature, you'll probably just need a hand held can opener. Then wash the can lid and file down any left over burs of metal if there are any, You'll have a nice durable metal base for your big minis. Magnet ready too in case you want to be able to swap bases for various rulesets. This does not generally work with pull ring type cans, so you might have to change your brands if you get

Hello there! This was heavy, and took a long time, and some different attempts at the red scheme. I can't remember how many times I stripped it. I don't like it when the red highlights into orange too much. Buglips' "Kaladrax in a week" inspired me to keep at it. There are plenty of mistakes here but it is time to move on. Ashlan Fellthrush was in the box, so I guess he was included as a snack. He is actually a great Sandra Garrity miniature even if he looks a bit light a deer frozen in the headlights here. I think he is thinking "This seemed like a good idea ten minutes ago

Warning, contains spoilers for the Pathfinder Adventure Path "Serpent's Skull". The Serpent's Skull campaign that I'm GMing is almost finished, and I wanted to put together something special for the final boss. I haven't been able to find any minis that came even close to representing this thing, so I decided to try to create my own 'mini' for the final boss out of green stuff. A lot of green stuff. I have made modifications to small miniatures with green stuff before, but I have never tried to sculpt something on my own before I made this thing. I expected it to come out horribly. I
