  1. In the 5E game I recently started played, one of the characters created a halfling bard. I had yet to paint Lem from the Kickstarter so he received a quick paint for the tabletop last week. Of course, that player didn't show up to last weeks game but Lem is ready when needed. Now that I look at it I see there are a few little bits that I missed but I doubt I go back and touch him up.
  2. Quick tabletop job for a friend. Crappy pictures as I did not have time to get out the good stuff so my Table War case and iPad had to stand in. Coat looks off in the photos as my friend requested a shimmery coat so I did a metallic wash. In person it looks fantastic.
  3. Hi! Today i finished Lem for my friends birthday, miniature is for our d&d campaign. Base from microartstudio, and gold is nmm. Very nice miniature for painting. Comments are welcome.
  4. Critics!!!! Lem and his friend were just having a jam session at the local bar when an oversized cranky, horns on too tight, minotaur takes exception to the music... We now join in as the Demon Lord asks , not so nicely, the gnome to stop torturing that poor cat while lem looks on in amusment. This is made using Lem from bones 1 and the Minotaur Demon Lord as well as the Gnome Bagpiper from Bones 2. The floor, barrel and spilled tankard are all me. I tried my best at getting good pictures but something this large just screws with my camera. Coment
  5. While working on a small diormama concept I have painted up two small musicians , the first is Lem the Iconoic Bard from bones I. I have cut him off his base in antcipation of attaching him to something later but I am not sure what yet. Enjoy and feel free to send some critique my way (I can duck )
  6. Lem! My eyes hurt, I don't think I will be painting another halfling anytime soon. Good thing I think I got one of the nicest sculpts done. Static grass is not my friend right now, might have sprinkled a bit too much.
  7. I entered a few minis in RCon 2013's Master Series Painting Contest, and was skilled/lucky enough to earn a bronze, and later I was lucky (no skill required, really; Derek is incredibly approachable in person, a fact for which I am quite grateful) enough to take 15 minutes or so of Derek Schubert's time after the judging was over. In the hopes that my experiences might be of interest and use to other forumites interested in entering the contest or improving their showing, I'd like to post a few of the insights Derek provided. To start, I'll briefly explain the way the contest works, as
  8. At long last, I've finished all the PCs for our Dragonlance campaign. This is Niko Cranewright, a kender with a...fascinating...penchant for folding every sheet of paper he comes across into a crane. This is the reason our party's wizard can't cast Magic Missile. Kender, miright? Anyway, I also entered Niko into the RCon competition. Surprising to me, a much less recent paintjob of mine was selected by the judges for critique (Janissa, or Cassie, seen in Show Off some time ago). I won bronze, and am quite pleased. Thanks to Derek for patiently walking me through the reasons Janissa was cho
  9. Very exciting news for me: In about a month, I will take a hiatus from DMing and actually play in a few games. Other people will run the weekly RPG show at my house, and that's spectacular. First up, we'll finally get the Firefly game going that I painted up minis for some time ago (see them here if you're interested). Then, once the "pilot" episode of that game is over (we'll come back to it from time to time for two- or three-session "episodes;" not only is it in the same 'verse as Firefly, it's also going to be plotted like a TV series), we'll start a Dragonlance campaign. I should say,
