  1. This figure is a great load off my Shelf of Shame. I wanted to complete it for my friend's 40th birthday, as he was supposed to come back to town for a surprise party. I never finished it, since he changed his plans and there was no party. He and I go back to 7th grade, and have gamed together on-and-off for the better part of 25 years. I've gone back to complete this figure after about a 3 year hiatus. He is my first real attempt at an NMM weapon and armor. The challenge with the sword was the spine of the sword is soft not crisp, so getting a straight line was tough. I asked my friend what his favorite type of character was to play. His answer: Sword and Board fighter. I wanted the figure to resemble my friend: Very pale Caucasian, very light blond short hair. Also, I wanted our high school colors to figure into the paint scheme: Green and White. I also like to find old gems from the Reaper store that need some love and new life breathed into them! Ashlan definitely fits the bill. So, I present Ashlan Fellthrush, Heroic Paladin. I had dreams at one point of making the suitable looking parts of the sword and tabard-trim into green gems, but gave up on that to get him DONE!. Part of the reason I gave up on this figure for so long was my failure to realize my ambitious goal to paint a freehand gold NMM device on the back to match the one sculpted on the front. The back felt like it needed something. I tried a white dragon for a while, like the shield, but didn't like it. So I repainted the back and tried this gold device. It came out "good enough" after about the third try, so I moved on. Overall, I'm very pleased with Ashlan. In know my friend will enjoy it. He's triple-sealed for gaming goodness. Now, I just have to pack him up for a safe trip to Seattle. Thanks for reading. C&C Welcome.
  2. For your consideration: Reaper Bones miniature Female Anti-Paladin. It wasn't until I started on my idea for the shield that I realized that *it* was the Main Character. Not exactly a daemon-possessed sword, but a symbiotic relationship none-the-less. Extravagant tone with bright, decadent colors. She-Hulk for the hair. Massive Voodoo for the dots. (More dots!) My cat Zen for the eyes. (He's a Tom.) Lots of non-textured areas to tell a story. Great player character or reoccurring NPC. A lesson of extreme - in Color and form. The armor was protective but the clothing was tattered like a torn mesh bodysuit. Heavy straps encircled limbs and the armored boots formed like hooves. Toothy maw adornment on the armor hints at hunger. A very introspective Pin-Up. I hope you enjoy. :)
  3. Greetings everyone! First of all I am so sorry If I create this topic in wrong place. So I'm kindly asking your forgiveness. Other than that, as the title says, I need suggestion help ladies and gentlemen. I am looking for a miniature figure, and this will be my very first tabletop FRP miniature which I'm going to buy for a current game, (Curse of Strahd, 5 edition D&D) But I couldn't find what I'm exactly looking for. My character is going to be a noble knight, an Oath of Vengeance Paladin in his prime. So I found some miniatures but it's not what I'm looking for. (14508) Vernone, Ivy Crown Captain (03324) Stern Kestrelmann, Paladin Hero (03348) Quinn Nolan, Heroic Warrior (03715) Erick, Paladin Initiate So I found them, but only one of them doesn't have a shield in his hands. I'm looking for to use some polearm mainly, and a greatsword alternatively. <TS: Edited for Commerce link> So as you can see up there, I'm looking for a medieval, heroic, plate wearer knight with a halberd, polearm or a sword without shield (or shield can be worn on side) Please help me with some suggestions! Thank you all!
  4. This is the figure Dynamic Tiriel from Hasslefree Miniatures. I grabbed this and gave it a quick paint job as I needed a “win†after my struggles with Narthrax (http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69994-narthrax-reaper-bones/). Since she’s mostly metal it didn’t take long to paint her up.
  5. This is Jeanne from Hasslefree Miniatures. A miniature I bought on a whim and I'm very pleased with how fast she was to finish, and with rather good result as well. I was on the fence which hair color I should try and use and eventually settled for a rather orangey one.
  6. This was my first attempt at a smaller piece. Hitting the details is no easy task. I am happy with how he turned out, but I still need to hone my brush control. The idea behind this one was inspired by a friends Gnome Paladin who is the Knight in Shining Armor type character. His armor is gold and steel. He rides a war dog, but I haven't found a figure for that yet. Hope you like him. And the back shot CAH
  7. Hey, look! I actually painted something by Reaper! I filled in the holes on his axe with some green stuff; I thought it looked kinda silly in it's original state. Tabletop paint, as usual for me. I'm still trying to work on my reds. I hope you like him.
  8. Lord Ulthrak from Hasslefree Miniatures. Suprisingly easy to paint with quite nice results.
  9. Hi folks! Been a loooong time since I've posted anything. Been incredibly busy with commission work. I did want to get back to posting here, and I think this is a good figure to re-start with. I was asked by a potential new client, to pick a figure and paint it and to take as long as I thought right on it. So here we have Alain the Iconic Cavalier from Reaper's Pathfinder line (in metal). I used 3 different types of NMM, 3 decals from Warhammer 40K, and went with the red and white tabard scheme. Hope you guys like him. I had fun painting him.
  10. I present the Rackham Inquisitor Griffin 1. I painted this guy a while back.. Before I started trolling these forums... before KS1... He was for a DND character that was Fighter/Barbarian/Pious Templar of Kord. I tried to follow the "Factory" paint job, but realized too quickly it is hard to blend white armor and make it look good. So I ended up just lining it with Gray. It's relatively sloppy. I sculpted the floor he's standing on with Green Stuff. The skulls were part of the sculpt. Paints were Vallejo Game Color He should be suitable for my Rise of the Runelords PBP 2-H Fighter.
