  1. Hi everyone,Firstly I´m pleasured to take part of this forumm . My name is Alvaro Gonzalez and Im a spanish miniatures sculptor, for last year I have been sculpting some miniatures and the time has come to pre lunch my first kickstarter campaign that I will launch in two weeks around. This deal with 32mm scale (23mm tall to eyesline) resin fantasy miniatures for wargames, collectors and painting. It will be a small project of 9 dwarves miniatures. It would be great having the support of this community for carrying on my brand. You can keep posted about news in our facebook , I will post news every week.https://m.facebook.com/pages/category/Games-Toys/Brindelwald...instagram.com/brindelwaldminiatures/I show you a small sample. Thank you.
  2. Just wanted to pass the word: Dragon Bait miniatures has a kickstarter up for 9 Fantasy Kung-fu style Turtles in 28mm. As an add-on, they are also re-releasing 4 out of production dungeon monsters in resin, formerly available in pewter from Otherworld Miniatures (John Pickford Otyugh and landshark, Andrew May Cockatrice, George Fairlamb Cerepod). Joe Corsaro from Dragon Bait has successfully completed three other campaigns--as a backer for his grunt goblins campaign I can say that the kickstarter was well run, delivered on time, and produced a quality product. Here's the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/boxturtlereb/the-boxer-rebellion-nine-kung-fu-style-turtle-adventurers
  3. So I have started prepping this baby for painting: And I am disappointed with the quality, the mold lines are sooo bad, and the vents are right in the middle of details, and some places the vents were cut in such a way that adjacent details were lost. Just a few of the many pieces, black knife for scale. Nasty mold line, with my first pass at it Vents in detail, there were worse ones that I already mostly fixed on another piece: For as much as this thing cost, even at Kickstarter pricing, I guess I expected better.
  4. Got this from a eBay seller in china, not sure if it's a recast. It was a very nice cast in high density white resin. Very little clean up only had to remove some sprue nubs on some of the larger pieces not really any mould lines or flashing. Haven't been able to find out much about this piece other than that it was apparently at Wonder Festival 2018. I would really like to know who sculpted it.
  5. On top of the Sherman Jumbo, I have a new project. This is Frozen Ninja 3D's resin bust of a cloaked gal holding a small flaming dragon. I picked it up ReaperCon last fall. There are four parts: a base, a robed torsos, a hooded head, and a pair of arms holding the dragon. Over the casting was good, but there were some issues with the resin sheaving (splitting off in layers) in the arms and the underside of the torso. These were sanded down, the given a layer of putty, then further sanded down. You can see the putty in the pics. I also hollowed out the sleeves and a portion of the hood. These were filled in almost to the opening. I used a Dremel tool and ball cutters to hollow them out and tried to match the inside with the exterior folds. One unique (to me) thing is the base; there is a two-leve' base with some symbols on it, and small stone house built on top of that. The roof structure is built into the torso's back. It sure beats the usual brass rod... Pics are where I'm at so far. Qs and Cs welcomed.
  6. This Bombshell Miniatures' 75mm resin Tara purchased at last year's ReaperCon. She's actually a skosh over 80mm. She's also listed as 1/24th scale, which puts her a tad over six feet. The kit is four pieces - body/legs/upper arms/head, lower arms incorporating a head and sword, and a small rocky base. The body is well toned with noticeable muscle definition. My example had a large resin blob hanging down betwixt her legs (the one time I don't check a figure for issues/parts). Anywho, Dremel to the rescue. I routed out the blob and reshaped her thighs. Since her skirt is very short, I painted in a pair of expensive solid black tactical La Perla boyshorts. Nuthin' but the best... The rest is of the casting was fine although the sword scaled out to over 40 inches and was too thick. I took some of the length off and thinned it down. I also added a scabbard, since none was included. An odd omission... I also added a secondary weapon in the form of a boot knife. The skin tones are the new Bones colors and, since she has a barbarian look about her, I imparted a somewhat dirty and sweaty look to her - no smooth boudoir look transitions here. I also toned down the highlights in her hair - barbarian vs shampoo commercial. I did add a bit of makeup to her face (contradictory, I know). All other paints are Reaper's MSPs. The base was extended with Aves Apoxie Sculpt, stippled with an old oil painting brush with kitty litter rocks and pebbles. I added pointed ears to the severed head, and painted it using the Dark Elf Skin triad. Qs and Cs welcomed. Glen

Something for everyone! I got the early bird 4 bust deal. FWIW I have some of their earlier figures and they've been very good quality.
  10. <link here> Tomb Guardians over the past year has been asked to release our miniatures in a resin/plastic material because a lot of you do not like metal. So for nearly a year we have discussed and researched the best way to produce a high quality, high detail miniature that is far above the current standard on the market. We are happy to announce that we have found a method and decided to release all our 28mm monsters in a High Resolution Resin. These miniatures will come with a 1 year guarantee, if you break one we will replace it for FREE! Just mail it back to us. Bobby Jackson, Jason Weibe, Gene Van Horne and Patrick Keith help create these amazing creatures. We hope you enjoy our Monsters and want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

  14. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/simonminiatures/the-saga-of-belius-the-black/description Belius versus Angus and Branag Belius the Black is a giant with mysterious origins. We say about him that it is the reincarnation of a god, or even, the guardian of an ancient temple. In short, according to the babarian tribes of the North, it is a black legend related to Bregan Lorelei’s great-grandfather. Bélius is a 70 mm figurine sculpted by me, not counting my hours, in order to obtain the incarnation of the warrior of evil, chaos and destruction. The resin cast will be made by Mr Dès, former melter of Rackham , a pledge of high quality. This project , a range of dark fantasy figurines, is important because I can create from A to Z what i want while satisfying the fans of my work. Indeed, I have been sculpting figurines for more than 20 years : First, for Rackham for 9 years and then for various freelance brands such as Mierce Miniatures, Monolith with Conan, Mythic Battles and Claustrophobia which are successful on Kickstarter. The Kickstarter platform will allow me to finance the moulds for all the figurines, which are all my personal creations. Knowing that the fans of my work will be able to hold them in hand, paint them, or play with them in any kind of games is really a great pleasure for me. This first step is important because i imagine that these figurines are destined for a game in the future. Belius is accompanied by two brothers, Angus and Branag (35mm): They are barbarians from northern tribes. They are elite soldiers ready to do anything to protect their lands and the Elebore Forest from any intrusion in the name of their leader, the demigod Siegfried. NEXT SG to come:3480€ BAAL-Thus, 60mm of brutal force! Shipping informations: The shipping costs are the same for all pledges and for a number of unlimited miniatures. France:7 euros UE:8 euros Rest of the world:10 euros
  15. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/831472366/corvus-corax-miniatures-clansmen-of-caer-loch?ref=hero_thanks Corvus Corax Miniatures is a small hobby project created in 2013. Since then, three projects have successfully funded on Kickstarter and all have been fully delivered on time without any delays. The feedback from the backers have only been positive. Thanks to the support through Kickstarter, 17 miniatures have been made available. The goal of this project is to raise funds for the production a total of four (4) miniatures for the Clansmen of Caer Loch. The miniatures will be cast in high quality, non-toxic resin. The scale of the miniatures is 35mm (measuring to the eyes in a standing, straight pose, although some characters may be slightly larger because they are supposed to be large characters). You can also pick up the other Corvus Corax minis from previous projects as add ons I've backed the previous projects and been very happy with the results
  16. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/reclusivephoenix/slumbering-oblivion-iii-hades-rising Coming off the heels of two successful Kickstarters, Reclusive Phoenix is happy to announce our third project. This is the second project in our Slumbering Oblivion 32mm scale game line and the aim is to produce the human armies to face off against the forces of Cthulhu. The human army is known as H.A.D.E.S. (Human Alliance in Defense of Earth and Sea) and is under the command of the new human alliance called the Aligned Nations of Earth. TL:DR / The Short Story We are trying to fund the human army miniatures for our upcoming Slumbering Oblivion 32mm scale tabletop war-game. The initial goal is to fund the creation of a 5 model unit manufactured out of resin. The more funds we raise, the more units and models we will produce and the quicker the game will come to fruition. This is also an EU friendly campaign in the sense that shipping will be fulfilled from US and UK locations which should help cut down on additional taxes and fees for international backers. Four of the First Five Miniatures H.A.T.E. Trooper - Gustav I backed their first KS for cthuloid monsters and it was excellent and delivered without issue, the second for the Giant Cthulhu also appeared to go well so if you like the look of these they're probably a safe bet
  17. We just launched our campaign for awesome gargantuan dragons, they are 20 cm high, they will look huge compared to 32mm miniatures, the design of every dragon is also unique and different. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dracostudios/dragons-of-the-red-moon We hope you can join us on this draconic adventure!
  18. Here is a little preview of Lilyana one of our core minis for that set.
  19. Y'all. It's done. I've probably sunk about 40 hours into this, and it's been so much fun to learn some new skills. But I am so, SO glad it's done. ;) Enjoy! And let me know what you think! I'm seriously open to C&C. Thanks so much for looking!
  20. Not much info out there yet, but Bob has started to put up concept work for upcoming mins.
  21. This is Scale 75's Ares Operator 03. It's a 40mm resin future soldier and apparently part of a gaming system. The package had some cards in it, but since I don't play the game, they're a bit lost on me... Anyhoo... The figure is four parts - head, upper torso/arms, lower torso/legs, and the rifle with molded on hands. Cleanup was taking care of the usual casting seams and the removal of bits and pieces of mold trash. I used the gray Stynelrez primer (brushed on out of the bottle) and Reaper MSP paints. I used a Dremel tool and ball/dovetail cutters to mark up/damage the armor and went with a splotchy green camo. While they have their place, I tend not to use bright colors on military figures because all they say to me is 'Here I am! Shoot me!'. The figure is mounted on a sanded/stained wood craft block with Aves Apoxie Sculpt groundwork, kitty litter rocks and somebody's weeds. I added a dripping rusty pipe coming out of the ground and a large putty teddy bear. Qs and Cs welcomed. Glen
  22. Now that I have your attention... This is Percival, a one inch(ish) tall resin penguin from Scale 75. The piece is part a larger model in S75's SmogRiders line. It's not normally available separately, but I was able to score one when it fell off a truck. The piece originally had a WW I style Prussian spiked helmet. I removed the helmet and added a WW II British helmet from my spares box. The groundwork is Aves putty stippled with a stiff oil painting brush to give it a sandy texture. The sandbags are also putty formed with my fingers. I left my fingerprints on them to give the impression of coarsely woven canvas. The sign is sheet plastic and strip. Reaper MSP paints. Eventually, it'll have a name plate 'Why Am I Here?' Qs and Cs welcomed. Glen
  23. This looks like a fun quirky boutique piece. Pigs and Dwarves! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1113411001/the-caravan?ref=project_build
  24. Got this out of Impact Miniatures last Kickstarter. The master was 3D printed, and then it was produced via spincast resin. Pretty much zero clean-up, although they use a pretty persistent mold release agent. I washed it with Dawn and scrubbed it pretty well. Primed it with Badger Stylynresin and had a bunch of areas where it flaked off with the slightest touch. Gave it another thorough bath & scrub and re-primed with Badger and this time it got a grip. Base coat and initial highlights are Tamiya paints applied via airbrush. Highlights and details are Reaper and Vallejo. Then tried out some Secret Weapon and Mig pigments. There's a spot near the back where you can tell it was a printed master because after i applied a wash it picked out the striations. After highlights you can't really see it. Some of the details lose crispness where parts merge i.e. the banding around the gas tanks isn't as sharply defined where it curves down in the back to meet the hull. All in all it's a pretty nice piece! First Chibi I've ever painted, and while I got inspiration from Odin's Chibi's for the eyes, I need a lot more practice to get them anywhere as nice as his!
