  1. When I got my Secret Sophie assignment and saw that I got @Corporea to paint for, I knew almost instantly what I wanted to paint for her. She put that she likes anything adorable and cute plus I know she likes mouslings so I knew I had to paint one for her. As I was going through my stash I found that had the Santa one and knew it was perfect. I also knew I wanted to pair it with a Christmas tree but it took me a while to settle on how I wanted to do the tree. Mainly I was flipping back and forth between making or buying one. I ended up making one out of greenstuff and am really happy with how it turned out.
  2. Quirky miniatures of Grey aliens as characters such as Santa, pirate, Einstein, etc.
  3. Time was a little short to get this done before Christmas, but he is as done as he will get before tomorrow.
  4. Some of you may remember that last week I posted the result of an experiment I did to see if I cold paint one of the Pathfinder Goblin Pyros to make it look like a convincing Christmas Elf, to go with my Santa-themed Enchanter warband for Frostgrave: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/68561-pathfinder-goblin-pyro-as-santas-elf-89002-bones/ Well, I liked the results so much that this past week I was able to finish up the rest of the Elves I needed for my warband, and I'm happy with the results. They will represent four Thief-class soldiers Santa will use to help him gather treasure during his expeditions to the frozen city of Frostgrave. Note, that on one of them, I replaced his torch with a candy cane made from a bit of paperclip wire. (I love how easy it is to modify Bones!) As always, C & C welcome. And here's the whole group of them, with the Big Man, himself!
  5. This week I experimented with painting up one of the Pathfinder Goblin Pyros to see how it would look painted up as one of Santa's Elves for my Santa-themed Enchanter warband for Frostgrave. I had planned a while back that I wanted to use Christmas elves to represent the four Thieves I had added to my Santa the Enchanter's warband; and had originally prepped four of the Victory Force Miniatures, Unarmed Christmas Elves to use in this role. Then forum-member Pippin suggested over on my Christmas Eve as Mrs Claus post that I possibly use Goblins to represnt Santa's elves. The idea buzzed around in my head for awhile, as I wasn't totally happy with the Victory Force Elves. I felt they looked a little too Elf-On-The-Shelf modern. So, I thought I'd do this test on the Pathfinder Goblin kind of as a proof-of-concept as to whether using them for Christmas Elves would work. I'm really pleased with how this figure turned out, and I think the idea of using these fellows for Santa's Elves is going to be a winner. Even as I type, I have three more prepped and awaiting painting. As always, C & C welcome.
  6. A group of unusual Dwarfs. They're all by Reaper, except for the Hunter, who is an old Warhammer Dwarf Adventurer.

    Bad Santa & Blitzen

This was a tabletop job for one of my PFS characters Kristoff Kringle and his animal companion Blitzen. Santa is Enigma Miniatures "Bad Santa" model and Blitzen is a D&D Wolf from the Castle Ravenloft board game with the bow from Reaper 89033 glued to his head... Character Background: The door to the lodge slams open loudly. The cold wind blows in violently carrying with it a peculiar stench. You see a shoddy looking dwarf holding a unique looking staff and dragging a large sack behind him. "You 'em Pathfinders?" He asks rhetorically; "Me name's Kristoff Kringle [150311-4]. Me Grandpappy, you know him, the "big guy," well last year about this time he sent me cousin Kris [150311-2] down to ye Pathfinders. Kris was supposto find out if ya'll Pathfinders belonged on the naughty or nice list. Up north we be herin' lots of talks aboot rampant murdohobo'in." "Well Kris ain't never come back. Aboot a month later we get a letter from some Drangle Drang saying Kris dun got his head bit off by a ghoul on his first mission and thankin' our family for our sacrifice." *Hrummmf* "So this year the big guys dun sent me down to south to complete his mission. I'm a bit more experienced then me former cousin [inquisitor 1 / Druid 1] so ain't no ghoul gunna bite my head off. Plus I brought me bud Blitzen to watch me back." As the dwarf points to a large wolf standing at his side. You notice a pair of antlers loosely strapped to the wolf's head as you start to question the dwarf's mental faculties. Oh yeah, here ya go" And he tosses the sack to you with disembodied heads clearly visible. "I met some of 'em Aspis folks on the road down.here. They were already on the naughty list and they got all huffy about it. Ended up meeting my Candy Cane of Judgement they did!" As he slaps the oddly shaped staff in his palm.
  8. Since Inarah post a end of year painting binge I though I give it a go, but at my pace. She is attempting 20 in 10 days. I'm attempting 3+ in 10 days. Which for me is speed painting. Granted one is over halfway. A second it 90% finished, just working on the base. The third will be the hasslefree's strumpet. So... Um.... Yeah.... Binge painting. The + is any other work I managed to get done on top of those. Here is a shot the strumpet: And here is my current WIP that I hope (or dream) to get finished by Xmas:
  9. Going to finish up his medallion with some free hand and call it done. Hope all of you have a lovely Christmas Maybe Santa will get me some photography skills next year ;)
  10. I painted these for my mom for Xmas. I need to put them on a base. Any tips for basing?
  11. From Reapers Facebook page- Santa Dwarf sculpted by Jason Wiebe is coming to town for a November 28th release.
  12. So here's my santa mousling and his helper. I still need to trim the broccoli and mount them to the base,as well as fix the eyes, but time and daylight was running out. and then there was this fellow who showed up at our house around lunchtime. Cheeky little bugger had no fear of us.
  13. Just wanted to share my holiday take on Barnabus Frost... and a few other BONES I've painted.
  14. In last nights' episode of The Big Bang Theory Leonard ran a little Christmas themed DnD campaign. I like that idea, so I'm gonna try to get my husband to run one next year (a little break from our regular story arcs). But I think I'll have better luck convincing him if I have our Christmas NPCs painted up and ready to go. I've already got Santa Dwarf and I'll be getting Krampus, but I need little workshop elves. All the elves in the reaper catalogue are too tall, and the gnomes aren't really suitable either. I thought of the Mites (60066) or the gremlins (03621) because they're the size I want, but those are too creepy (I'd rather have happy Santa's helpers than creepy evil ones; after all, Santa Dwarf may be grumpy, stubborn, and inclined to drink too much ale, but he's not Evil Santa). Does anyone have any suggestions for happy, tiny elves, after the ancient European folk style?
