  1. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rebelminis/rebel-minis-motorpool-kickstarter/description Story Welcome to our newest Kickstarter! You'll notice this one is a little different. In this Kickstarter we are offering the STL Files of some of our classic models for you to print on your home 3D printers. These files, created and designed by John Bear Ross, offer tons of combinations and entrance into an amazing realm of sci-fi models. These models come scaled in 15mm AND 28mm! Now, keep in mind, these are for personal use, not for commercial or resale. We own the copyrights and designs but for the sake of this Kickstarter, we are allowing the files to go to you, our loyal supporters. So why are we doing this Kickstarter? Short answer…We are raising funds to increase our in-house printing capabilities. This will allow us to develop more detailed models, models in larger scales, and bring out even more product lines. Rebel Minis is growing and we want you guys to be part of it. But we can’t do it without you, so please consider pledging, and spreading the word! Thank you, Mike and JBR The Reward We have only one. ALL the files listed to be available for one pledged amount. You get the files to everything you see scaled in both 15mm and 28mm. Your pledge of $40 gets the whole kit n’ caboodle. Once again, this is for PERSONAL USE! You do not have permission to distribute, copy or sell the files. *C'mon man, you know that ain’t cool!* Stretch Goals If we reach our goals, we will unlock stretch goals. These files will be added to the reward and download at the same time. Delivery After the Kickstarter ends, and if it is successful, you will get a survey to confirm your email. Later, when they are ready, we will email you the links for download. The Files Look at all these Glorious Files, they can be yours! Can I print the weapons and vehicles on FDM and Resin Printers? Yes, everything should be printable on both types of printers found in common use. Most of our prints are optimized for desktop resin printers like the Anycubic Photon or the Elegoo Mars, but FDM should be able to support most builds. If we encounter files that are too large for resin printers, we will happily go back and supply sliced and optimized files to be printed in smaller chunks Gun drones, gun carriages, and weapons. 28mm and 15mm. 2. Decided I needed some retro futuristic hover cars. The Europa Magnus Station Wagon: I also decided to create a cheesy vintage style advertisement for it. This was a quick sculpt (about 4 hours in Fusion and 3 hours on the printer). The reason behind this car was that I wanted something relatively quick to print and prep that I could practice vehicle painting techniques on. I have no idea why I decided to make my first one in a retro futuristic style - I'm not even really a fan of that style, but I'm probably going to make some more. I've got some ideas for some other hover cars/trucks as well as some with wheels. Since most of them will be simple one or two piece prints that will get knocked out in a few hours/days, I'll keep them all in a single thread.
  3. Hello everyone, And welcome to my weathering class. No. Not WEATHER - WEATHERING. So more like this: After having worked on some vehicles for quite some time and having recently finished some tanks in winter camouflage (check out ->here<-, ->here<- and ->here<-), I was asked to do a tutorial and explain some weathering techniques. That said, I have to be honest and want to make clear that I LOVE to overdo it, so that things pop out on the table. If that's too much for you, you need to adjust on your vehicles and stuff accordingly. As it is hard to give an overview over the topic of weathering and find THE solution to all the different approaches of aging a vehicle, house or other mechanical thing, I will use different vehicles and techniques and explain everything in order for every vehicle I work on - so maybe a technique that suits you won't be done in the first tutorial, but in a later work. So please be patient. First off: If you want to see some people doing great stuff with different models and weathering techniques, check out these channels on Youtube: ->Plasmo - Plastic Models<- ->Andy's Hobby Headquarters<- ->Doctor Fausts Painting Clinic<- ->Laser Creation World<- They may answer some questions you have and provide in-depth sight into the process of weathering a vehicle or building (which means: this tutorial is basically meaningless - haha) Anyway: Let's get started! Table of Contents: What's Weathering? Going the first mile (How to plan and to start) (Under construction)
  4. These began life as cheap dollar store children's toys but then fell prey to my love of post apocolyptic things. A 1934 Ford Hot Rod and a 1957 Corvette. Taking these apart was a much greater pain than I had anticipated, I started with the Corvette, switching the rear tires from the Ford With it's front tires as they were a bit smaller and helps give both a cobbled together look. The patina was a base of Ebony Skin with Black, Oiled Leather, Highlight Orange, Stormy Grey all dabbed on with a piece of sponge. Final dirt is Steel Legion Drab applied the same way. It works, gives the impression of having been a black paintjob originally, which is helped by the light dabbing of Linen White on the sides. The screen inside was a pain in the elf to get glued in.I also drilled holes to show battle damage. A light touch of Honed Steel was used to pick out remaining chrome bits. I used the same colors on the Ford, except adding Linen White to the edges of the patina. This gave a much better effect. The wheels from the Chevy look much more convincing than the original on the back. More Linen White was added to the wheels for the whitewalls. During disassembly the back bottom broke off, so I added a bit of chain to cover the gap. The back window had small bits of a chopped up gift card glued inside as makeshift armor. Spots of the original orange are visible adding to the rust effect. The touch of white difference . Eventually I'm mount weapons on these, but as an experiment in realistic weathering they came out well. In the future though I'll not be taking apart the Maistos.
  5. I'm trying to understand how the Special Ability (SA) Bulky applies to vehicles. I have a primary attack squad which I built using the CAV Force Manager that includes: 1x Naginato [veh] 3x Wolves [veh] 1x Talon CAV. All of the vehicles have the Bulky rule in the print out that the software makes. The rules say that an attack squad must have between 4 and 6 Vehicle/CAV models in it and that SA: Bulky models count as 2 models for squad size. So my attack squad can include at maximum 3 Bulky vehicles and no other models? My Talon CAV (Recon) is bigger than my tanks but it is not Bulky...? The software appears to let me build an illegal attack squad. I have 4 SA: Bulky vehicles and a Recon CAV in it but I don't see any errors listed anywhere. What am I missing...? Thanks for your help! J--
  6. WWII was a major conflict and as such there are many model kits and miniatures out there. However it has always struck me as odd that there are so few Japanese forces made. Sure, there are some airplane kits, and some Chi-Ha tanks and a few infantry kits. But is like they were a minor force if we compare it to the abundance of German, Russian and Allied troops. I mean you can buy models from a lot of regular trucks, half tracks and such, but the Japanese only get a Tank or two? Maybe I've been looking at the wrong places. And I must admit I haven't been following new releases for WWII kits. But lately I got a little interest again. So I'm curious, I prefer 28mm metal miniatures for this, what is out there depicting Japanese WWII forces? Preferably vehicles. Anyone know of a few nice metal kits?
  7. Antenociti's Workshop have announced on their Facebook page that they are planning to launch a kickstarter in early 2014 for 28mm scifi resin scenery, mdf structures, vehicles, and figures. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=592884427415869&id=153539898016993 The sweet spot is expected to be £100 and represent about a 50% saving off retail to start. I don't own any of Antenociti's stuff... Yet, but I am waiting on pieces that they contributed to Mantics Deadzone and Mars Attacks kickstarters. The photos I've seen of their previous offerings looks great and all reviews I've read and watched on their products have been very positive. I believe this is going to be one of those "can't afford to miss" kickstarters. There have been requests for them to include fantasy and modern day lines, but so far Antenociti has stated scifi only. EDIT: link added.
  8. OBJECTIVE: Obtain three units of medical supplies and return to your deployment area to win. Medical supplies may be found in the Hospital (one unit per figure searching, but the place is crawling with zombies, and you can't fight and search in the same round), in Police Cars (fifty fifty chance of finding one unit of supplies, one search only) or in Ambulances (one search only, 1d6 units of supplies). The hospital is in the middle of the terrain board. There are two police cars, randomly placed. The ambulance is on the far side of the board from your deployment area. However, there are only twenty zombies on the board in the streets at the moment... but that could change the moment someone opens fire. What do you do?
