  1. In order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of animation in Japan the National Film Center has opened a site that will let you view some of the really old animation from the 20s, 30s, and 40s. Some are old enough to be completely silent while others do have sound. In either case, all of the one's I've taken a look at have the option to toggle English subtitles so you can read along. If you don't read Japanese I recommend using Chrome and activating the page translation feature to navigate. http://animation.filmarchives.jp/index.html Enjoy reliving the golden era of animation.
