  1. In my quest to paint up every race class combination, I tackled this fun mini from Oathsworn Miniatures. One bad thing about pre-painting dragonborn is that they have unique powers based on their dragon color, so how likely is it that someone want to pick this mini in blue for the character? Oh well, another one down!
  2. My first attempt for this miniature. Thoughts?
  3. Had a lot of fun painting this one! :D
  4. I just got done painting this amazing figure!
  5. Bones 4 core set #20. Could not find a release # for him yet. I took this guy and a few of his pals to Reapercon to work on in my spare time (ha!) and got him base coated using some of the new Pathfnder paint set. I couldn't help but notice the chickens and the look of terror on his face, thus the name. Finished him with a basic drybrush and wash for table top play.
  6. Gave this model a different arm and hand pose, sculpted a wooden stick and used a resin bit from avatars of war necromancer for the spear head. This was a speedpaint that took probably around an hour. Thanks for looking! The original model:
  7. This is my version of Grond from Hasslefree Miniatures. I've had the figure for a while but never got around to him. I can't really tell why I picked him up now (might have been that I wanted something to try my Valejo steel color on), but after I started I had trouble putting him down. I'm really happy with how he turned out, and with very little resistance as well. I had trouble with the eyes. I would have preferred a "normal" straight ahead stare, but every time I filled the left eye it had him looking to his right. After three attempts with the same result I figured it was meant to be.
  8. Had a lot of fun painting this.
  9. I'm in love with this mini, that retro feel it has is just great! I had a lot of fun painting it and tried being bold with the basing Really happy with how it turned out
  10. Here my project for this past week. A family of barbarians ready for adventure. All the minis are from Hasslefree, and I went with the same scheme for all of them to reinforce the familiarity. Any feedback welcome ^^ here or on instagram, @albertnyarla
  11. Hi guys, My take on this bad boy :)
  12. Another one done :D .. not enough or too much blood maybe well.. xD
  13. Some massive darkness still.., this time dwarfs and some minions warriors 4 in total to start with ( having 4 other type cooking )..
  14. Howdy, Deep Ones... Ribit, Kev!
  15. Good morning everybody! So just finished painting this one Friday I think, and getting around to posting him. This one I think is one of Ral Partha's older Citadel crossovers, where something happened wherein Partha had to rescuplt new versions of some Citadel pieces. I think this was probably one of them not sure of the actual origin, and really not sure of the sculptor. I think It's Bob Charette, because there are similar faces with some other minis, but this is yet to be confirmed. Anyhoos, fun figure to paint, not a super svelte, big-boobed super model, and a very flat figure, but fun armor, shield and personality. Color choice as always was a big issue, had no idea what colors to do her. She got tanned skin because I was painting her with some other figures, plus she's a warrior, so she probably runs around outside a lot. The red hair? Why not is the only answer I can come up with. The hardest part of this one, was her upper lip, because she really didn't have much of one. So hope that turned out okay. In any case, enjoy!
  16. Knocked out my first Dark Sword figure as a commission for a friend. It's also my first try at sketch style.
  17. Hello guys and gals, here's a new figure I just finished, a Ral Partha figure from the eighties, a female warrior, kind of a bit barbaric, with axe and shield. As Always, deciding just simple things like colors were kind of more time consuming than they should have been. I did her hair black because I'd seen the same model very nicely painted and done blonde and didn't want to copy. This was sculpted by the great Julie Guthrie, sculpting goddess. Also had no idea what color the shield should have been so eventually and randomly chose green! Anyhoos, enjoy!
  18. Hi all! Just recently finished painting my first Ral Partha figure: a heavy-armored warrior and a pretty dragon! Getting the pieces to fit together was a bit of a hassle (maybe it was a bad mould?), but after I got that sorted out I decided to go to with a classic blue dragon look. Look at those chompers!!! Used MSP Dragon Blue (29815) for the scales and wings, Sparkling Blue (09104) for the plate scales on the spine, and a mix of the Blonde Triad for the belly scales, horns, and wings. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with this one. Certainly earned a display place on my desk.
  19. I am going to give a WIP thread a try. I am painting DHL 02881: Dara, Psionic Warrior. She is Not In Catalog (NICed) but still available from reaper. I have had Dara sitting around for a while. I think she is rather unique and bought her shortly after she was released. Unlike a lot of my minis, she didn't tell me how to paint her other than " I have dark skin and purple hair". I thought about her for a while but then was inspired by "when in doubt, paint the shadows purple" which made me think of " Join the cult of purple and teal- you know you want to". So I decided the cloak would be teal with purple for shadows. Then I was looking at One Boot's metallic painting thread and thought "with purple and teal the armor has to be metallic gold". This is where I am so far:
  20. So I recently posted Rozmina, the Half-Orc Pirate from Derek Schubert. Here is the other half-orc I was working on at the same time, but as this one had a lot more going on with armor and such, he took quite a while longer. Really cool mini sculpted by Bob Olley around 2003, large figure, good heft to him. the only frustrating part on this one was the chainmail and trying to get all the paint into all those little holes, and I can see some spots where it didn't work quite like I wanted it to. Also what color would you guys call his metals that aren't "steel" colored? Referring to the hilt, the belt buckle, and that heart looking thing protecting his manly parts?
  21. Howdy, Little brother to the three gilly groats buff... Thank you all, Kev! P.S. This was done during Paint Club at Reaper HQ
  22. Hello all, Starting a new WIP for a mini I'm working on for one of the players in my D&D 5e campaign. One of her characters is a Tiefling Eldritch Knight, so I have selected the glaive-weilding S'Kara to be the starting point for this project... As you can see, I have just begun. I have primed the mini, and used a pair of pliers to slightly curve her horns, to achieve a more ram-like, less devil-like look. I'm currently in the process of selecting colours for the cloth portion of her outfit. Any suggestions or ideas? (Fyi, she will have dark brown hair and olive skin). As always, comments and constructive feedback are always welcome! -E.E.
  23. Finally got around to taking photos of my ReaperCon entries for 2017 and this was one of my entries in the Painter's category. This is Dark Sword's Female Wood Elf Warrior and I wanted to paint this one up for a long time but could not decided on what color scheme to use. All I knew was that I wanted to do something different than what you would expect for a wood elf but I did not know what. It finally came to me, use mainly purples and greys and make her a drow. After determining that, the base plan came to me pretty quickly, place her in a cave with natural crystals and spiderwebs. The webs were created using UHU glue. She ended up being my entry that was judged for that category and I was very pleased to receive a gold medal. Any feedback would be appreciated.
  24. I'm painting a Rageclaw Warrior and I'm trying to figure out what this thing is. He has a leather strap wrapped around one of his hind legs and there's something hanging off it. Can anyone tell what it is? It's a package or a letter maybe? I don't know what color to paint it.
