  1. This wip is far along. I had to rewash laundry late (and stay up late enough to put stuff in the drier). Started with a coat of Corporea black, then pure black on the barrel, and wood got mahogany. I debated painting stuff like the stuff at the military college (chassis painted grey) but I felt it would be boring. So I'm painting it in other boring colors. I haven't painted wheels yet. These would be better bought prepainted, because they're pretty inaccessible.
  2. Between my Weird West game, a pirate one-shot I got talked into planning, and some future plans, I've no shortage of uses for these cannon from Nolzur's. One package is a pair of naval long guns that might be 12-pounders or maybe bigger calibers. The carriage isn't right for Civil War land use, but I don't care and neither will my players if they get the chance to capture a cannon. Used @HolkDiggity's excellent advice to grunge them up with Typhus Corrosion and then rusted one of them up further. They are smoother out of the box. And then there's this magnificent bombard. Modelled after the Tsar Cannon, I believe; this is the sort of thing you use when those walls absolutely positively, NEED to be breached, or if you're besieging Vienna or something. Aroudj Firebeard included for scale.
  3. It took longer than I expected to get these guys done, but I'm happy with how they came out. They're part of the Warhammer Battle for Skull Pass set that I bought in 2007. The base is a bit uneven as when I glued down the back of a blister pack for the stonework it split open and I covered it in with gravel. In the future I'm going to have to use something else as it really didn't register as "stone" to my eye, but the cannon covers most of it at least. The powder barrel is a small Reaper bones barrel I've had for awhile, the cannon balls are 25mm airsoft ammo and the coffee pot is from an old Marx toy factory dollhouse set. Vastly overscale until one thinks about the thirst of the average dwarf! I had the idea of adding some thing for each dwarf, ammo for the hauler, gun powder for the engineer, and coffee for the swabber with the mug. The aforementioned gap filling. Base of craft paint Pavement with Stormy Gray and Rainy Gray drybrushed over it. The crew in Maxwell House colors. The swabber looks to be well on his way to caffinated bliss!
  4. Continuing on with painting things from the shelf of shame this guy has been primed and the base partially done for at least 16 months. The cannon is from Mantic (it's part of a Dwarf cannon) and the figure is Privateer Press. The water was done by painting two sea greens in the base (one for darker and one for lighter areas which were only around the cannon) then I poured in several layers of woodland scenic realistic water that were slightly tinted blue. After that I used Woodland Scenic Water effect to do waves and then dry brushed on a light sea green then straight white.
