  1. The first mini I finished in 2021 is this Tabaxi Rogue from Oathsworn Miniatures from the Sensible Shoes (SKU SS29). Normally I dread painting lots of bags and other accessories, but it went smoothly this time. Not too happy with the blueish magical sword, but the rest turned out fine.
  2. With Theros out, I've been looking for more Leonin mini options. I prefer plastic over metal/resin simply because I can afford more of it. Anyone got any leads on some good leonin minis? Or big-cat inspired catfolk in general as opposed to the domesticated cat-folk type. It looks like I would have been set if I was looking for these a few years ago when every online store had Alkemy on clearance, but now that game is just a bit too costly for the number of minis I'd get.
  3. This is a pretty awesome Julie Guthrie figure that has been in my paint queue for years. Was having trouble finishing it, but found inspiration over the weekend.
  4. This is my second entry into the Reaper Facebook Convert and Paint contest. I wanted to do this one because I love doing dragonman (dragonborn) conversions. There just aren't enough kinds of dragonmen to model for various character classes. And I'm glad that the catfolk minis came out within the last year because when I think about dragonmen, I like to see their clawed hands and feet, so it makes them great for such a conversion in my eyes. These were the minis used for parts, including pieces from the dragonman conversion kit: 03457. Poor Shadoweyes got her
  5. My PCs are all grown up, and I needed someone new. When I saw this mini, I knew she would be mine. I present Miss Meliora Felidae, Mesmerist: (Forgive the wobbly lines and dots on her underskirt. I’m still working on my freehand skills.)
  6. My most recently complete project is the lovely ladies of Oathsworn Miniature's "Heroines in Sensible Shoes 3" Kickstarter. As always, they are a joy to paint. They have nice, bold details but without being overwrought. They definitely look like a bunch of starting adventurers! The theme this time was more exotic races, notably a bunch from "Volo's Guide to Monsters" The ladies ascend the mountain: The Kitsune. She could be a lightly armored Fighter, a Rogue, or a Ranger. The Kenku (or Tengu) Shaman. Or Wizard. Or Sorcerer. Or whatev
  7. I recently got in the latest "Heroines in Sensible Shoes" Kickstarter from Oathsworn Miniatures. I decided to get started on them and take (yet another) break from my in progress Rising Sun minis. As \always, they were nice, clean casts with lots of detail, but nothing over-wrought...which makes sense for low-level adventurers! They're such a joy to paint.
  8. After we started the Rise of the Runelords PbP here, I found myself on a mission. I created a catfolk character, Kehrgl (only later would I reflect on the closeness to a certain kind of exercise, LoL, and then decide to keep the name anyway), and I wanted a mini to suit her. And holy crap--catfolk minis are a job to come by. Ones that fit the bill, at least. Luckily, someone directed me to the Panthera Tribe in the 100 Kingdoms game, by Black Orc Games. And there I found some pretty cool cat-people minis. And go figure! Apparently sculpted by Sandra Garrity. Of course I'd like them. I
