  1. It's been a while since I've painted a Reaper miniature, so I thought I would post my latest creation here. I had a lot of fun painting this mini - blue is one of my favorite colors to blend with, and I enjoy painting fun hair, like her braid in the back. TMM was used on the metal.
  2. Finished off 9 cavalry figures. They are all kitbashed from the Frostgrave female soldiers and wizards. They have been combined either with Gripping Beast Arab cavalry or with Perry Miniatures late medieval light cavalry or French dragoons. Some of the arms (in particular spear arms) are from the Oathmark elves. The Frostgrave minis have narrower waists and go well with Perry miniatures and with the gripping beast kit. The Perry napoleonic kit has a lot of blankets and furs on the horses, and the legs are separate to the torsos and have high boots. I was scared of pain
  3. I realised that I had so many Frostgrave soldiers painted up that i had quite a big army for games like Saga, Warlords of Erehwon, Or even Kings of War. Am going to have a war machine with Frostgrave soldier crew, and these lancers /light cavalry. These are the Frostgrave females, mainly, mixed with the legs and horses from Gripping Beast's Arab heavy cavalry. I cut the FG minis in half with a razor saw at the belt line and they fit the bodies perfectly. There is a Victrix cloak in there and the armoured rider has Oathmark elf arms, but essentially everything else (including the
  4. These maginificent minis were donated by @malefactus to add to my Lost World Project. WIP Here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/&page=109 Eureka Miniatures ( Pond Wars Range). I painted the Frog riders as Poison Dart Frogs and the Toad mounts as Bombina Orientalis ( Chinese Firebelly Toads). I had both as pets in my youth. Here is the unit, and in the latter pics on my Jungle Photobackdrop Board.
  5. These are from Kensei, I got them from their Kickstarter Wako vs Namban. I used them as Conquistadores for my Lost World Project. 5 Herruelos ( Cavalry with arquebuses). I got some great advice from @SisterMaryNapalm about the horses, I do think they look better this way. WIP here. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/&page=143 I used resin bases and made two myself with a Rollerpin from Greenstuffworld.
  6. Here's something I acquired and painted a long time ago. It was made by Reaper in the early '90s but is no longer in the catalog as far as I could find. It's rather primitive compared to the modern mouslings, but still quite nice. Note the worm-like segmented tail. The mousling is cast as a separate piece from the kangaroo rat, but its tail is not. Also this mousling has slender, human-like hand and feet, whereas the current ones have more teddy bear-like extremities.
  7. Here is my rendition of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I painted them to serve as the climactic opponents in a friend's role-playing game -- a session that occurred this afternoon. I'm not a regular member of the group, but I got to sit in today, with a recurring friendly NPC for my character. Quick description of the campaign: Spycraft d20 system with some elements of D&D v3.5, and the twist is that the "good guy" secret agents are all liches! They are powerful undead beings from various times of the past millennium and from around the world. The head of their agency assemb
  8. My Iron Kingdoms RPG group sometimes can’t hold back. When we saw that Borka: Vengeance of the Rimshaws was riding a polar bear… well, we had to figure out how that might work for us. Luckily, we have a very good GM who is willing to make up some rules in the name of Awesome. And then it fell to me to create some awesome minis featuring our heroes riding bears. I grabbed a couple bears from Scibor (they’re very large) and put a couple of Reaper Bones minis on them- then did a lot of sculpting. Here are the results: First off- the Gobber Man-at-Arms/Duelist/Horseman:
  9. Inspired by this version, I decided to paint my own rusty Golgoth. Enjoy! As always, c & c welcome!
  10. Well, this makes me 2/3 complete in Warrior, Maiden, Monster. The Monster is just having some curing issues with his water effects. Vincente, Onyx Chevalier Plain basing, for now. His broccoli looked like rocks, so he got rocks. As always, C&C welcome! Also in the Inspiration Gallery.
  11. So, for Christmas my parents went down my Reaper shopping list and scored one of each of the Anhurian units I had put on there - I had thought I might get one or tw, but all at once? WAHOO! Now I have a small horde of little metal men crying out to be painted and fielded, not to mention 3 Doors Down playing in the back of my head... Here's the first wave, with my already painted Anhurians. Waiting in the wings are an Anhurian elite guard, an Anhurian cavalry, and two swordsmen - I think there were supposed to be four in the blister, though, so I have an e-mail into Reaper
