  1. These are 3 resin Ttcombat treemen from their recent Halflings and Friends kickstarter, and the Reaper Bones tree spirit. Painted with contrast paints mainly. I then had great fun sticking flock and lichen all over them.
  2. Been working on this guy for a while; finished him (for a given value of "finished") a couple weeks ago but didn't take pics until recently. The sculpted beard wasn't doing it for me, so I added some reindeer moss. Glued on some tiny leaves that look like miniaturized burr oak leaves. His huckable boulder I'm using for other terrain. This is a big fella! C&C welcome as always.
  3. "One of my favourite range of figures ever was Citadel's 1980's licensed "Lord Of The Rings" minis. I have finally decided to get all the miniatures I own painted up (over time) & try to acquire the ones which are missing from my collection (& paint them up too!)". Here is my next completed mini - Treebeard: Mighty Ent. I tried to keep the colours as close to Treebeard's description in the book. I guess this mini sculpt may seem a little dated by todays wonderfully elaborate standards but I think it has it's own charm especially in his warm characterful face. Comments & thoughts always welcome! Thanks for looking & "Hrum Hoom"!
  4. This is Scibor Treeman #3 (SKU 28MFM0151). Tried to him dark and evil looking, though the skulls kinda give that vibe as well....
  5. Stonehaven Ent Troll, a much friendlier looking treeman, from one of the Stonehaven Kickstarters.
  6. The "Wood Elemental" Spirit of the Forest. And quite a large one at that. Don't think you are going to do much damage with a sword and some arrows. I did this in late summer colours so it could go for the "spirit of summer" bonus thingy in the reaper forum resolutionary painting challenge. Makes me think of the many summer woodland walks and August camping trips with the boy scouts. Summer lasting all of three weeks here in Norway before the Autumn rains set in. Because Winter is Coming. 77184: Spirit of the Forest Reaper Bones from the first Bones KS sculpted by Jason Wiebe Bonesium PVC 60mm base
  7. Last minis for the year. No where near my goal, but two more for the Challenge count. I've also finally gotten a better photo setup. And a quick pick of his little buddy:
  8. Having putty on my fingers and being in a sculpting mood while waiting for my fire giant's shoes to harden, I looked around for something else to tinker with. I quickly dug out the Spirit of the Forest. I didn't want my forest spirit's head emerging from its chest, so I made an attempt to raise it up, though still well hunched over. I drilled holes in the shoulders and the base of the jaw, and connected the head with soft aluminum wire. Also I carved away some of the alignment peg of the original neck joint. I think it needs some further adjustment, but it's a start.
  9. A recent eBay lot had a heap of early Heritage figures, which will be going into my vintage miniatures games for next years' conventions. There's not a lot to some of these early figures, so I kept it simple.
  10. I painted this up quickly along with the skeletons in between sections of character minis. Nice and easy, drybrushing, ink washing and glazing. There's a noticeable lack of foliage, so I thought he could be a winter saproling (plus I'm going on a bit of a snow kick with basing right now). Totally raided the pantry for this base, some Italian herbs for leaf litter and baking soda to make the snow.
  11. While I was practicing wood recipes last month with my barrels and crates, I also started on this little guy, but didn't get him finished in time for last month's RP Challenge.
