  1. This year I'll be spending the week between Dec 25 and Jan 1 at home... like a lot of folks. I'm using the time to finish up a few figures languishing on my paint table and prepare for a clean(er) start in 2021. I'll get some photos up as I prep. Right now I am planning to finish: 1640 Cat dragon in tree 3893 Mal, catfolk warrior 3894 catfolk rogue 3977 Mercurix, winged cat 77576 female sphinx several Cats and Catacombs figures a trio of Alkemy Khaliman Republic figures some 3d printed tressym (winged cats) whatever else stri
  2. Johnny Lauck, who retired his Mega Miniatures business recently, ran a few Kickstarters before he retired in order to let people order some sets. A couple of years ago he ran one of a cat-people dungeon crawl party. I saw some people here regret they were going out of circulation. Well, apparently Armorcast has picked up the license and is offering half a dozen anthropomorphic cat-people dungeoneers. No commercial links, but if you go to the Armorcast site and look under “Miniatures,” they’re in the category “Animal Adventurers.” They have an Old
  3. It's as if the creature is saying "This is my watering hole! Go find your own" I really wasn't sure how to do the wings, which was why there's so much contrast between the wing webs and the wing fingers, but I do like how he came out. Feedback appreciated, especially any advice on the wings!
  4. Some years back I acquired a starter box of the Khaliman Republic (basically Egyptian cat people) for the French wargame Alkemy. They are the first small-scale resin I've ever assembled or painted. Anyhow, one of our gamers wished to play a Ceilican (magical were-cat) in a heavily modded World of Darkness campaign. Of the five figures in the set this one appealed the most. It appears to be a sort of lynx-man but with a long tail. There may be some flash or something. I've been reluctant to get too slicey with the resin. Here the figure is prim
  5. This is a catgirl pirate ( "Nyamaunir-Piratin"), figure #15503C from Das Schwarze Auge, produced under license by Ral Partha Europe (which is not Ral Partha). Got that? She is a wee bit on the small side. Here from left to right are a cat person (Khaliman) from the French "Alkemy" game, our little kee kat pirate, Reaper's 77340: Avatar of Sekhmet, and Reaper's 03478: Tawny Firehair, Cat Girl. Here she is up close. She has some nice details and a more fuzzy appearance than most of the cat people minis I've seen. This is my standard pri
  6. Part of the Stonehaven Half-Orc Kickstarter were these interesting adjuncts, a lion-centaur and two hengeyokai. The hengeyokai seem to be some sort of Japanese-derived shapeshifters, but they are sculpted as tiny bird creatures, and I do mean tiny. At the moment all I have done is prepped them. They have had the flash cleaned (not much there; these are good castings), the centaur glued to a base, primed white and washed first with Burnt Umber and then with a transparent purple mixed from Phthalo Green and Quinacridone Magenta. The purple might still be a tad wet on the lion centaur.
  7. My first mini from the recent DSM critters kickstarter. fascinating levels of detail. It was fun because I wanted to try some fur patterns and the kitties seemed to be the easiest to work with. I do like the detail built into these minis, even the sconce has a little pile of coals at the bottom of the flame. I probably didn't do the mini Justice in paint level but it was fun to paint. The only gripe I have with these minis is the bases. They are integral to the mini and difficult to remove if you want to do any additional basing. I tried to bury this one and attempted to simulated a
