  1. I am really enjoying Rangers of Shadow Deep as a solo play experience. I am currently painting up the opponents and some rangers for the Across the Wastes adventure. These are all Reaper, about 50/50 Bones or metal. Lots of drybrushing again. The scorpions are just dark grey spray, washed in black, with drops of 'orc blood" from Green Stuff World used as venom. I also used some foam clay to make rocks for the scorpion bases.
  2. Latest tormentor for my D&D group. Legs were a bit wonky to put together but I got them in the end. What do you think?
  3. Idk if this is a KS model or one I randomly bought to fill out our need for giant monsters that are not cardboard cutouts. Anyway, he's done. He was going to maybe go in a desert diorama but I decided against (he didn't end up fitting). I might go back over his claw bits again tho, they seem a lot darker in the pic than they do IRL but theyr'e still just not quite right. Anyway, he's based on a couple of RL pics, mostly going for a shiny red carapace kind of idea. He's not in my WIP thread, so just a quick note, I undercoated him mournfang brown (a red brown GW colour) and then built up to the red with reaper's bloodstain red and later clotted red (my absolutely fave triad *ever*)
  4. I decided that the Wolf demon needed a better tail so I took one from the giant scorpion and borged it onto him. Minor greenstuff blending at the join to follow and I need to repair some weirdness with his right lower leg.
  5. Been about a month since I had the chance to post or even look at anything on here. I had major withdrawal and plan on catching up. Last handful of models I painted weren't the most exciting, mostly just for gaming and not worth posting. I stared at this guy for a week trying to figure out what color scheme to go with. I hit it with red and stared at it another 24hrs. My wife picked up a bottle of reaper highlight orange and said "Use this." Although a lot of other color mixtures went on the model, her color was the base. Glad I listened, I love the way it came out. Tempted to go over it with a gloss though. I feel like it should have an icky wet look to it. Hope you enjoy :)
