Lidless Eye posted a topic in Show OffA gathering of various Half-Orcs, who were also victims of a sealant malfunction and hasty healing attempt. First, we have the grand Baron Othello van Kronut, a wartime lovechild and former adventuring Bard, who redirected his resources after retirement into helping treasure-seekers and world-wanderers find gainful employment. The leader of the guild informally known as "The Bastards", embracing the mocking nickname of his former adventuring party of half-blood kin, the group is infamous for hiring outcasts rejected by other adventurer's guilds (Stonehaven Half-Orc Noble) The buccaneer known as "Bloody Betta", the less said, the better (Stonehaven Half-Orc Spellblade) A common cutpurse known on the streets as "Linky". They really will hire anyone. (Stonehaven Half-Orc Thief) Oh, come on! This one's just a pig farmer! Have some class, people. (Dragon Bait Miniatures Half-Orc Druid) Okay, these are more like it. Some lovely lady warriors of maybe Orcish persuasion (Fenryl miniatures, I think? Picked them up at a con lot years ago) What a bunch of bastards.
Something's been bugging me ever since I saw the desire to have more hobgoblins in Bones 3. What is a hobgoblin's distinctive features? Often, I see them as basically normal humanoid shape and size, with some beastly facial features who aren't as exaggerated as orcs. Yet, we already have plenty of minis that fit that description in the form of half-orcs. Same basic shape, different skin colour, may have body hair. So the question to my fellow Peepers: "What should be the difference between hobgoblins and half-orcs minis?"
The recent arrival of the Half-Orcs of Stonehaven led to a burst of inspiration (also, the fact that it was my last week before a big chunk of overtime helped). So, I'm sharing my works so far. My camera seems to highlight all the things I missed...a few have been amended since then. First we have the menfolk of the crew. Aragorc is inspiring a new PC concept, for sure:
