  1. Let's jump in front of this bandwagon! 01449, the Halloween Knight, is an exquisite sculpt and perfect for my ALL OF THEM VVITCHES setting. Didn't try to go too overboard but wanted to give him a cape representing the changing of the leaves as we enter this season of mists and mellow fruitfulness. He's definitely part of the same cult as the Headless Footman (04031) and the Grave Minions (77537), and you know 30047 fits in there somewhere. I'm looking forward to the return of the OVERGOURD as this is one of my cults that doesn't have a big chunky manifestation of its patron yet (unlike THE PIPER IN THE WOODS, THE HUNGER IN THE GULF, and HIS MAJESTY THE WORM). Here we are with all the scarecrows and jack'o'lanterns. Remember, folks--you can't spell AGRICULTURE without CULT!
  2. Hello All, Here are photos of a metal 01449 "Halloween Knight" I completed recently. Thank you for looking.
  3. This is a conversion of Halloween Knight, made to represent a former PC. & get points for a holiday figure in the RCL the head is from a zombie, which had great eyes, with a little gapfill on the head. "Gramps" was a 4e D&D warlord. I played him from 2009 -2013 in any Adventure league game that he fit into. he made it all the way to lvl 12, the highest lvl I have ever played in any Adventure league or Society. his favorite sayings "Im too old for this broccoli . "a barbarian hits things with his axe, a warlord hits things with his barbarian." "I am going to retire after this one last mission.." He could go entire missions without ever hitting anyone, giving away all his attacks to the most damage focused characters. His sword was called "A little to the left" and the sword could give away its attack bonus to an ally 1/encounter - after the roll. He was at least 70 and human and claimed to have fought in every conflict in the last 200 years (probably lies) so apparently he made his way into the American Revolutionary war, after 4e was replaced.
  4. Pumpkin issues? Pumpkin issues?! I don't have any idea what you could possibly mean. I've loved this guy for some time. I've even got one of the metal ones buried in my mini-stash somewhere (and also [All Hallows] Eve...I'll get to her soon enough as she has a pouch/purse that is somewhat...pumpkin-shaped). I'll have to get it that one soon. Anyway, as soon as I saw this guy hit Bones V, I knew I was going to be getting a couple. So here they are! And I've just realized that I didn't paint the hilt on the white pumpkin's sword. I'll have to get that done pretty soon. The orange cape was done with a sample that Reaper sent some years ago when I returned to painting and some Pumpkin Orange and Hallowed Orange. Everything else is standard Reaper colors. I'm thinking I drybrushed the Shadowed Steel a little too heavily over the Adamantium Black. I tried to take it down with a little black wash, but I don't I got it quite right. I'm also wondering if I shouldn't re-paint the dagger as well and do something blacker/greyer. These guys were a pleasure to paint up! I'm normally pretty slow when it comes to painting. I don't even understand how some folks can plop down a figure and say that it was just a couple hours work (or less)! But, by my best estimation, these only took about six hours--which is almost unthinkable for me. ...and a gourd time was had by all. Thanks for dropping by!
  5. Plenty to paint with the new stuff so started somewhere simple while sorting through the small horde of miniatures that thudded onto the doorstep. In reality the head hasn't turned out that good , thank you sunlight, but did look okay and I love the purples on the cloak. The armour isn't quite how I would have liked but tried drybrushing the whole thing rather than relying on a deep wash. Fun figure though 🙂 Also followed the advice of Rhonda and made colour charts. Really useful as I switch to Reaper paints from others.
  6. Is this guy the ReaperCon 2016 Convention miniature mentioned in the swag bag? http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/previews/sku-down/01449
