  1. Finished him some time ago. Join my Patreon, Instagram and FB to see more pics Instagram https://www.instagram.com/story1000suns/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/ivan.melnikov.nakatan Check my P&P for full gallery of works https://www.puttyandpaint.com/Nakatan
  2. Orks are terrific, aren’t they? While the aesthetics and logic behind most 40k factions tries to toe the line between Full Blanche and minimally plausible weapons of war, the Space Orks just embrace the most absurd logic (a red paint job actually makes it go faster). This conversion was created by my client- and I really love it. Orks looting vehicles from Imperial factions is always great, but there’s something especially amazing about looting the claw of a titan and turning it into a tank. For the paint job, the titan claw is meant to look like the Orks painted over the original Titan’s color scheme. To this end, some of the scratches in the red show blue and imperial insignias and patterns underneath.
  3. Good day, i have been painting for a little while, but recently i have tried to push myself further... this is my second mini to do for LGS painting contest (i won the first one they did) .... have about a week left to finish him. so i am planning a little more highlights and more work on the weapons.... if it wasn't for a local friend i would still be painting in blocked colors and calling it done, but he keeps pushing me to try more hah! i am open for input and criticism on him... :)
  4. Hi there, finally I managed to finish this set a bit less caution with the latest guy for paint but well I believe it should look ok on a table :)
  5. Finally had my bases dry and got some pics of my Tankbustas and Ork Mek - the Tankbustas are conversions (basically I add a lot of rockets on them, and then more rockets) The Mek is the one in the front with the wrench and gear on a pole, and a big ol wrench in his right
  6. Hey guys been away for a while with a severe illness however am slowly getting back on the horse through much pestering by a dear friend! I have painted a Black reach Ork warboss in Evil sunz colours and added small details to his surroundings. Using milliput I made vines with venus fly trap heads! also added a couple of skaven mini rats to the base! I hope you like my submission and as always comments are welcomed and gladly received!
  7. I finished my trukks finally! Just took some shots outside, to see how the lighting varied. I have a few bits I have to stick back on... ork stuff is truly ramshackle >< haha but otherwise, they're done =D Waiting another 24 hrs to see how the varnish did, and if I need to revarnish them (really important since I tend to do a lot of weathering and these will get handled a lot)
  8. Had a customer walk into my store and request a painted Orc for a Monster Campaign he and some friends were going to be running. I figured send this was going to be a "hero" monster played by a character the armor would be somewhat maintained so I painted it with a small amount of rust as apposed to a large amount like I would normally paint it. I figure a monster trying to rise to power wouldn't let his armor go to waste. I hadn't done one before but I think it turned out great. The skin has more depth then the picture shows the lighting kind of washes all that out. If you like what you see I got more on my FB page. I'll be posting more both here and FB in the future. ( facebook.com/TabletopGlory )
  9. Presenting an Ork Painboy from Warhammer 40K. Had a lot of fun painting him (WIP thread here), and definitely want to get some more Orks in the future (unfortunately they don't seem to have many plastic characters). As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  10. Taking a break from working on my Kingdom Death stuff to paint this:- Choose this one because I need to learn to paint without leaning forward so much, so a big, chunky dude seemed like the best place to start. I'll make a start on the skin tomorrow, if I'm up to it.
  11. Another Games Workshop mini, this time it's an Ork Mek with a Shokk Attack Gun, and he has a WIP thread here. A Shokk Attack Gun is basically a short range teleporter with a vacuum cleaner attached, Goblins get sucked up one end and beamed out the other, the aim being to get the Goblins to re-materialize inside your enemies and really ruin their day. Not normally a fan of Orks (or even Orcs), but I just loved all the mechanical gubbins and had a lot of fun painting him (plus I remembered not to completely assemble him before I started painting, which made things easier). As always, and comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  12. Just fancied doing a project thread for no particular reason. Still very much obsessed with Games Workshop minis at the moment, and this one in particular is a Big Mek Ork with a Shokk Attack Gun. (A Shokk Attack Gun is a short-range teleporter linked to an industrial strength vacuum. Goblins are sucked up at one end and beamed out of the other, the idea being to get them to re-materialize inside your enemies. Nothing is going to ruin someone's day like a panicked Goblin suddenly appearing in your stomach.) Haven't got too far yet:- Mini has been partially assembled (I prefer painting once fully assembled, but this one just has too many nooks and cranny's) and mounted on pins. Now I'm just waiting for a free cork (I seem to have misplaced most of mine) and I can make a start on the first piece, the Ork himself.
  13. So, here it is the finished death dumpster, my gencon 2016 painting contest entry. This is the first time I've entered a painting contest at a con that was not the speed paint. The dumpster is a reaper bones dumpster, wrapped up in a mix of plastic card, mantic, games workshop, and I think tamaya bits that I got from mystery bags at a game auction. His base is made of a CD-r that failed to burn correctly.
  14. A game store near me is having a "Killa Kan Deathmatch" I wasn't planning to enter, but during dinner on Tuesday a friend brought up the idea of converting a reaper dumpster to be the body of the Kan. which lead to this: He was just stuck together with poster putty as a proof of concept. But I wasn't happy with the idea of gluing stuff to the dumpster since I already painted it, and will get more use out of the basic dumpster than I will the Kan. so that lead to this: The dumpster sits on it's lift rails inside the frame, so I can put it in for the game, and then pull it out when I am done. It looks like this with the dumpster: Now I'm waiting for the rules to be released so I can decide on what guns and other weapons I want to attach.
  15. I got these GW savage orks as a present (unpainted ;)). Since I don't play Warhammer they're now serving as D&D non-players. The color scheme is kept pretty close to the box-art (eye-translated to Vallejo range though):
  16. Hello, This is my Ork Warboss from the Games Workshop Black Reach box that I submitted to the painting contest at ReaperCon 2015. I'd love to hear any feedback. I'm not going to repaint this particular mini, as I want it to stay in its judged state, but I already know what I want to do differently in the future. Oh - I apologize in advance for the lighting setup. I hastily made a quick lightbox before leaving for business travel, and didn't get to tweak the light setup very much. No post processing has been done on the images. Thanks in advance! .trey
  17. I realized I hadn't posted all the old Shadowrun Ral Partha figures I painted last year. This is an ork woman street samurai. Like all old Parthas, her base is integral and pre-sculpted. I think I prefer the new Shadowrun aesthetic, where even orks can be kind of cute. This one is pretty grotesque. The rest of the Shadowrun pieces I painted at the same time are Reaper's own Caine, Cyber-Troll, a Troll woman from Wolfram's Gang, a Wolfram's gang troll with tattoos, an Oni bouncer, a cyber-troll in reflective armor, and the marvelously over-the-top Lord Torgo.
