I painted up both of the Bones 4 Rules of Hell minis over the past 2 months. Both of them were large enough to mount on 3" bases, so I decided to do something fancy and install LEDs into the base to create a light-up magma effect. To handle the highlights, I decided to try aiming for the illumination coming from below, so I lit up the base, turned off the lights, and took pictures of how the mini was lit up, then painted the figures based on that. I did the male ruler's base first, and learned some things that I did differently in the female's base.
