  1. I needed something that looks like it could capture a creature inside. Lol
  2. From the Villains 3 pack from Crooked Dice: a mad scientist's mad scientist. Shock of hair, beady spectacles, manic grin, pet baby shoggoth. I'd long lamented the fact that none of my mad scientists were specifically mad zoologists, but NO LONGER. Again, kudos to @lexomatic and @paintybeard for the tips. Stolen and reverse-engineered Mi-Go technology has allowed remarkable breakthroughs in the field of Brainservants.
  3. Here's a quick video of me painting a Reaper shoggoth. I wanted to test Citadel Black Primer on Bones as well as work on my video production, so I chose a very simple miniature to paint. Having also painted the Bones Cthulhu, I'm really looking forward to the Mr. Bones 3 Mythos rewards. https://youtu.be/P9sfdLqm5q0
  4. As has been a theme this year, the minis I manage to paint will all count towards the resolutionary challenge. As per the resolutionary painting challenge guidelines, I will post them here, and link in my post in the challenge thread. For some obscure reason the model "77115 Shoggoth" by Reaper features a big globe in it's middle, as if it is on it's back. It's as if the sculptor started with a marble and tacked on some tenatcles with eyes. Don't get me wrong, it is a nice, Lovecraftian model, but i find the marble a bit jarring. It is too large, to perfectly spherical. It simply does not seem to be a part of the creature, and I certainly do not think of Shoggoths when I see it. (if there had been several such globes of varying size held together with amorphous ectoplasm, well, YES! But just one is strange. I see most people paint them as large central eyes. Not me. I try instead to give a sense of scale to the cosmic horrors that wish to break into our reality... The world will not end with a bang, nor a whimper; but with a nom nom nom...slurp. The scale is roughly 1 274 200 000 : 1. or thereabouts. 30mm base. Bones PVC.
  5. Painting up two Shoggoths I wasn't fond of the big orb look, so I added green stuff eyelids to them
