    Vourgha the Ogre 02312

Finished up the Vourgha the Ogre late last night, and based him this afternoon. So here he is! Pic's Some close ups of his face: This was the 1st time I tried '5 O'Clock shadow' on a figure, and I thought it came out well... At least 1 of the close ups seems to be in focus Comments Welcome! 8) George Of to Irrisen in Golarion now for a few hours...

    Vourgha the Ogre 02312

Hey all! Been working on and off on this guy, he won't make the August cut, but... I recently got new brushes, and am learning to wet blend and layer so he is a transition figure... The furs, hair and boots were worked on in my old paint, wash, high light style, now I guess that will end up forming the base coat for my new learning works in wet blending, layering, use of a wet palette and all these other new tips and tricks... His skin is GW Tanned flesh, Layered up with GW Dwarf Flesh. His eyes were done with the 'Bette Davis' eyes tutorial from 'The Craft' section. Just a couple pics for comments: Thanks! 8) George
  3. Hey folks! Finally finished the last Kobold on the shelf of prep, and I tried a few new things on him, so in my opinion, he is the best of the Tribe that I have done. (It's Good to be The King!) He was finished up with wet blending and layering, so a large improvement over my older style of base coat, wash, mid tone, high light. He is also the first figure that I did work with my new Scale 75 Metallic golds, and new Raphael brushes, so tools and techniques changed in the painting of this guy. His scepter and crown were done with all 4 gold shades from the Metal 'N Alchemy Gold set, and they are something else! The orb in the scepter, and any gems were given 2 coats of water effect to spice them up. Forget who posted that trick on one of their minis, but thanks! Pics: His left eye is very strange, as far as I can tell, it is designed and sculpted that way. Not many images of this figure in any search I tried that showed that side of the fig... I tried to paint it as if it was enlarged and infected with some disease... So I used a deeper yellow than the norm, no pupil, and a couple of light light grey glazes to try and make it look cloudy / catarachted... Comments welcome! 8) George Now the Kobolds are talking back!!!! It's all Buglips' fault....
  4. I'm going to attempt painting a bones High Elf Adventurer as one of my D&D. One of the things he has is kind of cloak of invisibility (it's called something else in the book) and I wanted to make it look like his cloak is phasing out of invisibility kind of similar to this awesome paint job. Problem is, a forest/dungeon like scene is a bit more difficult to paint as compared to a space scene like this one. Does anyone have any advice or tips to pull off a similar effect?
