  1. Her face is way lighter in real life. In the pics she looks like she's got stubble...
  2. Hi Here's a couple of my recent mini's. Both of them are them are metal. I modified Eando to have a Halberd, which I made using weapons from the Crusaders weapons pack. I used a hobby knife to cut his hand away from his thigh, then used epoxy to try to recreate part of his hand. I added a gladius style sword to the Valkyrie, i added it to be back side because I didn't want it interfering with the shield hand, But in retrospect I think I could have added it to her left hip instead.Unfortunately I took the 3rd pic later, and it suffers from poor lighting.
  3. Since I want to bring a Bombshell mini to Reapercon, and Glacia isn't movin' my Mojo atm, I started on Geirahod... Eyes are GW Scorched Brown, MSP Linen White, and Scale 75 Tesla Blue Skin is Arabic Shadow, which seems to be my new favorite skin tone base coat.... Got the Blues in her eyes with one try..... (Will never happen again...) I found it interesting that the details of her face don't show up well in the pic on the Bombshell site... They look very soft in that pic, to me anyway... Comments and Critiques welcome!
  4. I painted up another trio of Talisman minis, this time from the Highland expansion. The first one is the Valkyrie. I chose her first because I have always liked Valkyries, and she had some nice art: She didn't turn out great, though she does look pretty good at table level. I'm pretty happy with the hair and cloak at least. Next is the Vampiress. I picked her because a player really wanted to use a vampire. I did not have high hopes, because even though it is some nice concept art, the colours looked like they would be hard to capture. I wasn't wrong: She looks terrible up close.
  5. Hello, I used to paint Games Workshop miniatures when I was a kid, but was put off for many years by the price. Having found out about Reaper recently I decided to get back into it. I picked up the Learn to Paint Kit, a few extra Reaper miniatures and some extra paints/brushes. The valkyrie I have attached was my first attempt after a long break, and now I am getting onto the mouslings. I am having some difficulties though. I would love to hear any feedback on these difficulties I list or any other criticism or advice. With the valkyrie there are some parts I am quite happy with. Her r
  6. The girl next door requested a dragon for her birthday, after she saw me give one to somebody else. I really hate giving away miniatures, because I feel my painting is not good enough for displaying to random people. But.. What can you do? :P Soo.. I figured I'd give it a go. Been working on these two on and off since yesterday evening: Based one black, the other white: The Valkyrie stood very low, so I sculpted a stand for her with a cork and some Fimo: Didn't fit perfectly with the ridges, but I think I can get away with it as a whole: And this is just abo
  7. Painted this for a friends' birthday. The miniature is going to be part of a small diorama, fending off a dragon.
  8. My take on Bones Aina, Painted last year. I tried a freehand on the shield supposed to look like a seaserpent thingy. EDIT : took some better pics.
  9. Sheesh, I started this figure back on June 15. Almost three months later, I can call her complete. The basing was the most daunting part. I read through Baugi's post and watched a bunch of youtube videos. But in the end, one just has to try it. Base: 1 inch metal washer Materials: Cork and generous application of ceramic stucco. Paints: Going to delegate craft paints terrain from now on. I used almost 12 drops of muddy brown and watched it get sucked in by the stucco and cork. Oops. Concrete grey and a mixture of concrete grey + white linen for highlights. Valkyrie: Went for simple c
  10. A little background first. Back at the beginning of June I was approached by an employee of my FLGS with a "Hey I hear you paint miniatures, want to enter our contest?" Well at first I was not going to as the deadline was less then two weeks away, I had other ones I needed to work on, and as your entry fee, you needed to buy a miniature from the store (problem since I have too many as it is). But I wanted to support the store so I made a list of Bones that I want to paint and out of the about ten that I choose, this was the only one they had. Well I got it done on time and was the first to
