Hello everyone, the madness goes on. On todays menu we have 44105, Giant Maggots. These Bones Black models were sculpted by Kevin Williams. I did a 09282, maggot white and a 09039, pure white glazing on them to give them a transparent and organic aspect.

Good day everyone, here are a few pictures of the 03017, Charnel Grub aka Carrion Cralwer I painted for the diorama I recently finished. This metal Dark Heaven Legends model was sculpted by Jason Wiebe and is also avalable in Bones under SKU # 77226.

As usual, here's another project started ... this, along with some other stuff I will be posting { *insert future time code* } once I have made a bit more progress on them, are part of ... As some of you may have seen, Goremaw has been sitting on my desk since we moved in and I received my Bones 3 order. I recently received another Kickstarter order that started me down my Holiday Vacation path ... Stonehaven's Giants and Stonehaven's Adventurers. I received 11 new giants to add to the Joten horde. At the last Paint Day, I cleaned all eleven

This is an old metal Cthonian aka Carnivorous Worm, from the Call of Cthulhu line made by RAFM co. It was painted in less than an hour, entirely by drybrushing up from a black undercoat. No washes or layering used. The base is bespoke 3D printed and measures 85x60mm. I believe this miniature still is available from RAFM.

Sorry for the terrible pic but I promised to show the dark elf worm riders with my modded weapons and assembled worms. The pic also shows the legs of one of the worms as I received them and with my sculpting add ons. The legs looked unfinished to me so I roughed them up and finished them myself. The rest of the models were very detailed so it's weird they didn't do the legs. I figure I might as well do the command group too so I'll upload more pics of them hopefully better pics.

Here is another semi WIP thread for another Bones 3 model. My youngest son had painted him in a nice coat of ultramarine blue and had left him. I then have the fun task of finishing it off to some reasonable level. So so after a couple of coats green and some dry brushing I got to this stage. I am actually really happy how this turned out. I am not sure I would have attempted the blue under the green, but it seems to work well. Anyway onto the base, didn't realise how much detail it had. As always comments welcome.

Hi, Here is my first painted mini from Bones 3: the "Great Maw". I really love the size and weight of this "miniature" (not sure if we can still cal it "mini"). Most of the paint was done with washes on simple black and white primer. I added some high gloss varnish and some 2 part epoxy glue in some places for added slime effect. C&C Welcome. And at least, now, my Mashaaf has a friend to terrorize players with:

While waiting for water effects to dry (more boring than paint) I finished up a couple minis that have been on the desk for a while. His one here is a favorite. Got all rainbow inspired when painting up a great worm. This was the first mini where I'd used the sand/gravel and glue mix to "sculpt" a base. Had lots of rocks to stick into it as it dried. After a dark primer and light drybrush, I liked the look of it so much I didn't want to paint over it for a few months. Well I finally brought it back to the painting desk about a month ago and have been hitting the rocks with various leftov

A few months ago I began working on the Mashaaf, Great Old One, add-on figure from Bones II, and had gotten as far as washing it, assembling it, and spraying it with a base coat. It had then sat gathering dust, waiting for me to find inspiration to complete it. Then, with the successful competition of my Kalladrax figure a couple weeks ago, I felt emboldened to bite the bullet and finish this figure up as well. When purchasing this figure I had some vague idea of using it for my Pulp mash-up Space1889/John Carter of Mars games, so I pictured in some sort of tan, brown, reddish type of

These are the minis I painted for Fealron for Secret Sophie. He said he was wanting some monsters that would live in a cavern or ice cavern. So, I imagined Ankheg (77230) as the mother and the channel grub (77226) as the larva. I painted the channel grub in blues and purples with yucky pink suckers. I used a little water effect on the slime trail it was sitting on. (Like a giant yucky slug!) I just painted the base for gaming like it was shiny ice. I used a gloss varnish because I wanted the grub to look slimy and icky! I wanted to use the same color scheme for the mother but I wan

This is a really odd figure, but I was looking for a burrowing creature, and this guy fit the bill. Biggest challenge was to find a paint scheme that looked rocky and organic at the same time. A floor wax coating on the teeth and tongue after the flat sealer gave the appropriate "wet" appearance. Kevin in Edmonton http://www.mageknightkevin.blogspot.ca

Frost Wyrm Sculpted by Kevin Williams I got Auberon for the exchange. I decided to go a different direction for this than the name would suggest, "frost." The "spots" are GW:brown (that I can't remember the name of right now) with upper highlights using Pearl White (a metallic paint) then a a glaze of a Vallejo Orange and a re-highlight of the Pearl white. The eyes are ALL metallic's and the base is from the Michael's Arts and Craft. Wood rounds. I used Reaper Ginger bread paint for the base, washed it and dry brushed it. All in all I think it turned out well. For my firs

Well this my take on the Mashaaf figure. Mashaaf the Devourer of Worlds. ~She is One of the Great old ones from the outer planes. Her home is a deep chasm in the bowls of the earth. She only surfaces to feed during great cataclysmic events or when called upon by her followers with a horrific ceremony. Legends say she feeds on the nightmares of people during times of strife.~ The figure to me looks to be a amalgamation of Slug, Maggot, Caterpillar, Spider and maybe some Crab. I tried to make it look as though her top was possibly a hard surface the stone fused to it. I also tried

THE SORCERESS AND THE WORM The woman stood in the arid desert, her living book held in her hand and she read the arcane words from within. Her eyes glowing blue, she scanned the pages more intently, the mouth on the book uttered the strange tongue in concert, her upraised right hand became wreathed in flame and suddenly the ground erupted! The great sand worm roared forth at her summons to do her bidding and destroy her enemies... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Figures: Nonalla Ellinad / Great Worm Manufacturer: Rea
