Once as motorcycle passenger. And once drove a moped (down the the block and back).

 

Never been in a sidecar.

 

I understand the thrill and sense of freedom of riding a motorcycle, but I'm also aware of the risks and high costs associated with them (license, insurance).

Ive driven a little dirt bike back when I was 17 ish... no helmet... not smart.  Zipped around on a Vespa as well.  Never been on a proper bike nor sidecar.

Not really. I have stayed up late, I have seen an astronomical event, and even done the two simultaneously, but I didn't do it intentionally. It has always been happenstance. The first I can recall seeing was a super-moon, and I only remember it because it was a few days after I had hernias repaired and was awake getting pain meds.

Many times.  I had my own telescope before I was in high school.  We have a much nicer one now, but visibility here in the city is not great.

Yes, of course, one can’t live with the MossFlayer without spending a few nights a year chasing down some heavenly body or celestial occurrence.  We were on vacation just this last Spring and made a late night drive back into Bryce Canyon to look at the stars.  Hooray for darkness!

Always seems to be extra cloudy when these sort of things crop up.

A couple of times in the past I have stayed up to watch a lunar eclipse.

These days my neighbours' trees have grown so big that I don't get to see much of the sky any more.

The first astronomical event I remember was a lunar eclipse. I was 9? 7? Not sure how old, but I remember my dad waking me up to see it; in those days I slept very deeply and it was quite a feat to wake me early.

I now have a pair of OAKS in the front yard who are TreEnts in disguise and a bunch of Huorns surrounding the backyard, so right there with you.

I have tried to; either I end up falling asleep, or I stay awake, but there's no visibility.

 

I have seen a few astrological events, but it was more of an accident than a planned thing.

Usually I don't bother trying to do such things.  Live just outside of downtown, aaaaand I'll playfully say there's a reason one of the most popular astronomy and astrophotography websites is called "Cloudy Nights".  So many events are either at a time we won't see them, or there's clouds.  Or forest fire smoke...

A few times yes.

Like when I was young and I was allowed to watch the match between Ali and Frazier.

 

And yes I also stayed up to watch stuff like comets/ Lunar Eclipse etc...😀

Yes, many times. And I've even managed to see one or two of the events I was staying up late to look at.

Due to weather events or light pollution, I haven't done it in many years.

 

But I've seen the Perseids in the countryside far from city lights (ideal conditions where you could even spot artificial satellites zipping by); I've seen Halley's comet in '86; several lunar eclipses (most of them partial). I even remember seeing Saturn through my dad's telescope when I was something like 10-11 years old.
