Bones spray sealers?

I'm still working my way through the Bones 1 & 2 KS boxes (which are amazing) and I have successfully been sealing with a coat of Testors Gloss cote (spray) and then a cote of Testors Dull coat (spray). I'm having trouble sourcing these cans in Canada now (Michaels seems to have stopped stocking it) has anyone had any success with the older bones models and a spray sealer? I combed the FAQ but could not find anything concrete. Bonus points if you know of anywhere in Western Canada I can buy Testors Dull & Gloss cote.

There's a 4-pack available from Amazon, that's where we got ours.

$96.19 ouch! It was $8 a can from Michaels, I know inflation is high but wow 😛

Does anyone know if these 2 products are the same?

Special Canadian rate just for you.

The bottom can looks like what I got.

I think the colored label is new. Search for "spikeybits" and Testors and you find some info. I'm also seeing that Micro-mark and Hobby Lobby are advertising it with that colored label.

Nah, that's just Amazon Canada and the scalpers on it...

I second @Pegazus recommendation for the Krylon spray. I've noticed since my Local Hobby Shop got cans of Dullcoat back in, the formula on them isn't the same as it was, more of a  semi-matte than a Dullcoat matte. I think the label was the blue one.

Oddly, it's the same label as before, but I'm sure "Crustoleum" messed with the formula, since they are slowly trying to kill the Testor's brand.

I have been using Matte Krylon Low Odor Clear Finish on my Bones. Haven’t had any stickiness issues.

+1 here.  I've used both regular and low odor Krylon Matte Finish on Bones for ages now with no issues.

I've been using "Mr Hobby Color Fading Prevention Finishing Spray Mr Super Clear  Matt" (B523Y) for about a year now and am very happy with it. It dries very matte, even more so than Dullcote, and the protection seems on par. It is a little more expensive at ~$12 USD for 130g, vs Dullcote at ~$6 USD for 85g. It even smells like Dullcote.

Amazing thanks for all the replies. I'm glad there are some alternatives to testors.

I've found https://www.sunwardhobbies.ca stocks testors at a reasonable rate.

You'll want to remove the link.  Links to commerce sites other than Reaper aren't allowed on these forums.  Just mention Sunward Hobbies 🙂
