Both my biological Dad and Stepdad served in the Airforce (USA and UK).

Although he never said anything, I think my Stepdad was a little disappointed that I never followed in his footsteps and sign up, but it just wasn't my thing.

Yes; quite a few of my family served in both World Wars. I was a USN Corpsman.

One grandfather trained pilots during wwii. Other side had at least one uncle in some branch, he moved to being a guard at the Denver US mint.  Only met him once, so lack details.

Yes.

I served 20 years in the US Navy.

My Dad served in the US Army in Vietnam.

Both of my grandfathers served in the US Army in WW2. 

My grandmother (mom's side) was in the French resistance during WW2.

I taught a class on public speaking. It went over like a ton of bricks. I did get good grades from the prof, but nobody wanted to do any of the exercises. I can teach basic cooking skills, well enough you could get a job as a prep cook. I taught basic canoeing and canoe safety to kids at camp.

One cousin was in the Air Force, one cousin was in the Army Reserves, one grandfather was in the Air Force (the other grandfather served in the army of a different country)

We moved almost exactly 2 years ago, and I am STILL looking for a few things!

I moved 7 years ago. It took a couple of years before SWMBO let me set up my hobby area the way I wanted and another few years to migrate most of the collection into that area. It's not exactly how I'd like it to be but then what ever is. My biggest complaint is that all my minis and stuff are in a dark room in the opposite corner of the basement from the table we play on.

The last time; i.e., the move from Texas back to Long Island. I had my stuff set up enough so I could work within a week. but it took a few months before I built up an motivation to do any thing.

I'm hoping we only have to move one more time, and that's when we get a place with our own names on it...  And since I've been in the same spot for 14 years and nine months, I'll go with the second half....  No, my hobbying area is not how I want it, but that's also because I've taken up a few new things, and so I'm also working on having everything work well for a multi-use area, which will take a few more months (namely additional storage at the desk, so I can easily just reach over and grab whatever I need)

We moved about a year and a half ago.

 

I was able, with the help of the realtor, to claim a small cabinet in the kitchen for my paints and whatever minis I'm currently working on.  I work at the dining room table, then pick up when I'm done.  There's a small place on the kitchen peninsula/breakfast bar that I've commandeered as well.  I use that place to store my WIPs that don't fit in the cabinet.

 

The minis and paint weren't the first things I unpacked, but they were among the first.  I was working on things within a few weeks (less than a month).

 

So, "no, it's not set up the way I want."  It is better than it was and it's functional, though.

My great uncle did, and my mom thinks one of her other uncles served in the Air Force. My great aunt Mary wanted to serve as a nurse, but she was told her skills would be more useful in the maternity ward. I'm too old and fat to be drafted now, but I considered cooking in the naval reserve. Why? Because I wanted to be a medic, but so does everyone else, so there are very few positions there. However, the cook is a medic on reserve ships. And I like food and food likes me.
