How often do you make your bed?

About as often as the bank asks my parents (who then ask me) to take photos of the place...  Why tidy up something you use regularly if there isn't a reason to?  Best it gets for me is I set up the blankets so I can just slide into bed and then pull said blankets over me.

When I change the sheets.  Never saw the point of making my bed that no one would see again until I climb into again to mess them up.  So when I change the sheets.  Then it gets made with picture perfection.

If your forces are anything like ours, they'll wait until the last six months and try and offer up the "hey, we'll double your pension if you stick around another five years" 'deal'.  Dad almost took it, but he missed out on a fair bit of things in my life and constantly regrets it, not to mention they were going to send him to the middle of... Wait, no, not the middle of nowhere, go another 300km further into the deep nowhere and you're getting closer.  Yeah, he laughed at the guy, and said he'd consider it if he was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer (he was a Sergeant at the time, and had just come back from duty as an acting Warrant Officer) but with the pay (and desk) of a Lieutenant-Colonel.  Or, y'know, something equally absurd.

But yeah, middle of absolutely nowhere Quebec was not somewhere dad wanted to move to for some reason...

Having lived in several places in Quebec that fit that description, I'm curious about which place that is.

If it's Bagotville (20 minutes from where I currently live), the area is much more populous and modern that it looks like on a map, unless you don't speak a word of French.

Though if you're with the Canadian Rangers Patrol Groups, then you'd be stuck in one of dozens of remote, mostly coastal, villages. And that's much tougher for anyone with a family.

More often than not, in the evening.

Reason being is I use an electric bed cover in the winter. And to give it time to heat up and trap the heat, I need to make sur the bed is made.

In stark contrast, during summer I sometimes unmake my bed in the evening so the air conditioning has a chance to really cool down the mattress.

Usually every morning I straighten it out, unless the cat is sleeping in the middle. If it's cold, I'll make the bed around him, otherwise I just leave it.

Just make the bed over the cat, ignore the hump. He will find his way out when he gets hungry.

How long does it take you to paint a miniature?

Given that I have not finished some figures and never will, I'd say 'half a lifetime' needs to be part of the range.

On the other hand, the speed painting at RC was pretty eye-opening for me in terms of how much you could get done in 45 minutes.  Mostly, I work on a few figures at a time, and I generally get something finished every week, so I'd say ~6 - 8 hours per figure.

So, to wrap it up in equation form, where CF = completed figure and LT = full competed lifetime:

45min <= CF <= 0.51LT, avg = 7h

When I change the linens. It doesn't really need it regularly: fold covers back to get in, pull covers over, sleep. When waking, reverse process. I guess technically every morning, but I don't think a simple triangle fold counts as making an entire bed. Once the sheet and blanket are tucked under the mattress, they stay put until linen change day.
