Egg nog is one that comes to mind. Starts appearing in October, gets hard to find after Christmas. I also love all things cranberry, and that season lasts a bit longer. Here's a good recipe for cranberry bread: https://www.berlyskitchen.com/orange-cranberry-bread-with-glaze/ I suggest letting it bake the full 75 minutes and then some, and then letting it sit over night. It can be very moist in the middle if you don't, but it improves in a day or two. Great for making ahead of time. 9

Best use of cornbread, not a fan of cornbread on its own.

Then at the end of the weekend, take another. Post both pictures to show us the before and after. With the noticeable temperature drop outdoors and indoors, it was time I weather stripped my sliding patio door. Washed the edges and removed the old gunk. Added some strips of foam along the edges that open. Two draft blocker "snakes" on the bottom. And finally sealed them with a large plastic film stuck all across them and shrink wrapped with the hair dryer. The problem is that because of poor lighting, camera position and nature of the task, the "before and after" pics looked essentially identical. 7

Jasper_the_2nd
Following up from the weekend, without going back and finding the quote..... Before: after: 14 hours ago, TGP said: Monday, Nov. 21: What is your favorite fall food ? (…or dish, or recipe or desert?) We like a lot of fall foods, root veggies and the like. But my fav, which you can of course get now any time of year, but is better in the fall, would be apple crisp.

Anything not on the diet (which means anything with starch or sugar). I'm going to give a "real" answer of "dressing," though. This is the only time of year I get to eat it. There are a couple other dishes that only come around between Thanksgiving and Christmas, though I think if those didn't get made one year I wouldn't notice the absence as much for them as with the dressing. 9
ejala
Took a before pic of the paint desk, but never got back to it to actually paint anything this weekend. We don't tie lot of foods to seasons anymore. Growing up mom made gingerbread houses for sale from mid October til Easter bazaar season, so gingerbread scraps were nice until you got sick of them after a few months. The whole house would smell of gingerbread, we would go noseblind but outsiders would comment on how nice the house smelled. In fall I am more likely to make pumpkin pie. Quite like pumpkin pie.

TGP
14 minutes ago, TGP said: Tuesday, Nov. 22: Would you rather meet a live scarecrow or a crow that could talk? I choose the Crow as well. (Although I think there is a scary movie reference either way…) the live scarecrow probably means Oz: -hordes of angry munchkins -squadrons (troops?) of winged monkeys -witches, too many witches -bumpy brick roadbeds A Talking Crow most likely means Narnia: -lots of other (mostly friendly) talking animals -dryads (dryads!) -only those two witches -idyllic scenery with meadows and lawns I would much rather land in Narnia. 8
