I don't think so. We all have a couple acres and have some form of gentleman farm going on. Most of us are in the construction industry of some sort for our careers. I'm sure that those that have seen my game room (see the link to the wip in my signature block) and not part of our ken of all things gaming and miniatures or modeling find the use of that space strange. But hosting Appalachian Trail Hikers this summer as Trail Angels the game room got rave review of awesomeness.
Count Urlik
8 hours ago, TaleSpinner said: Tuesday, Nov 8: Do you have or do anything that makes your neighbors think you're a bit odd? Yes. Back when I had a windowed 1500 gallon koi tank in the garage I think a lot of neighbors used to walk by just to see if the garage doors were open. They usually were, it helped with condensation. I’ve been known to put on a “PAPR” and tyvek suit when spraying the fence with oil. I mean, I have all the gear, might as well use it! For those that don’t get the reference, it’s the kind of wardrobe you’d wear when treating Ebola patients… eventually, I gave up on fighting our high water table, so we spent 3 months building a 30’ x 50’ greenhouse over our existing above-ground pond. It sort of takes up a lot of the backyard. It’s fun to see the looks on peoples face, but I just always grew up with an unhealthy mix of DIY sensibility and ambition. but, yeah, even our gaming partners next door think I’m a little nuts.

I tried priming outside once, that got some odd looks. But I don't know many neighbours in this building, considering that I've been here longer than everyone else combined.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. To be honest, though, they barely see me except when it's time to mow the lawn or shovel the snow. 6 1

My neighbors are pretty clear that they think I'm a bit odd. Sadly…this is not my life experience. I have suffered a number of instances where things said to my face were (later discovered to be) entirely different from what people thought. 1

At my current pace? Beyond the heat death of the universe. If I regularly sat down to paint every day like I intend? Probably a few years, I have a decent amount of Infinity and Conquest models to say the least, and then there's all the gunpla plus conversions for said gunpla, so probably given the size many of these projects will be I'd say a good 12-13 years... 4

Long enough to overthrow the new World Government and restore green stuff to miniature loving people everywhere. My grandkids (don't have any yet) will still be able to paint my stash. You mean in this room? Far longer than I have left. But should I magically get extra long life out of this, I figure about 100 years before I have to go down to the storage room where most of my minis are.
