Snow day, part 2! :bday:

Actually, this is an Ice Day. It only looks like snow. It is much thinner and far harder.

But all that is needed to make your street a proper skating rink is a Zamboni.

The last Boeing 747 was delivered to Atlas Air (cargo) yesterday. End of an era. They built 1,574 of them over 53 years.

They had a little fun on their flight.

So I decided to look into my new model car kit today.  I'm gonna need some drill bits,  figured I'd just get a new set of MM size ones,  no problems there.  There is one size I'll need 1.7mm that isn't in the set,  again no problem there. Upon looking up that size I get packs of 5 or more per unit. Haha, ummmm I don't need to drill that much!

Context, the holes will be located in the rear window shelf.  They'll be the rear roll cage bars, as the kit is technically a street model. You just mod to a racer. Actually looking at the instructions,  Hasegawa makes you drill all the holes in the parts.

Looking further, I see in gonna have to cut off material around the fenders too. At least the area is marked in the inside, but a Sonic microcutter would be handy here!

Also allot of parts are just trashed for the racer version vs street car.

Sounds like the model follows real world racer practice.

Potato, potato. It was always called a 'snow day' regardless of the actual reason for school closure when I was a kid, so shall it be called for all the rest of my days.::P:

It's miserable outside, and I'm just glad my company chose to shut down for the day.

I actually found some reference material for the build too. Since the decal sheet had the name of the race the Ghostbuster scheme was used I looked that up & found the race footage on youtube. There was a bit showing the car running in the race. I will say I will be using builder creative freedom for this as I wasn't expecting do full on mods & such. The race was ran in Australia vs Daytona as the box depicts, so there are no extra lights, but the car is running "R-HD" style where the kit car is "LHD". I'm not gonna scratch build a new dashboard, even if it's a simple piece. I just don't want to get too involved with this kit. At least if I did the kit has pre-drilled holes that I gotta open to swap the sides of pieces & such. I may do one scratch-build & that is to try & swap the gas-filler over to the right side, as the instructions show you have to cover the one on the body with putty, sand it away, etc etc. Thou tbh, I'm not exactly sure where the fuel filler is on these cars. As it may not be a normal like a street car.

At least you aren't dealing with a circa 1957 General Motors Product where they hid the gas filler under/behind the tail light housing.

Well the way the racer version of the Mazda RX-7 for 84 has fender flares which covers up the existing gas filler, so I'm thinking it's been moved somewhere. There are 2 disks on the tail end, that I'm thinkin one of those are a filler. I'm not familiar enough with this make. Hell I just liked the simple Ghostbuster promo on the car. ha ha.

Oooh, sweet Army Painter is releasing more Speedpaints!!

WP8057_Speedpaint_Mega_Set_2_Combo_TAP_P

Seeing those makes me actually want to get back to painting. Supposedly they come out of April 22 this year.

From what I've heard, they've not only expanded the range of colors available, but they supposedly corrected the re-activation thing that the first batch had.

When I used them last year before RCon, I really never experienced that, but I know it was a issue.

Juan Hidalgo actually showed how to fix the issue (and he got the idea from another painter): all he did was mix a little GW contrast medium to stabilize the speed paint.
