I'm not sure about @oldschoolfan, but I'm referring to the headlights.

I have the same problem.

Only thing you can do about it is shift your focus to the right side of the road until they pass.

And I have noticed the worst offenders seem to be high end European Manufacturer products.

And large pickup trucks, especially those that have been lifted.  Many of these have headlights that are now above the legal max height even though they were legal when they left the factory.  The extra high lights only exacerbate the problem.

Are you referring to extremely bright headlights or the LED Light Bars sold as an after-market accessory?

The problem with both of these is one of the reasons I have long advocated for annual safety inspections before the license tags may be renewed.

And yes, my older eyes are definitely affected by these, even with my hundreds of thousands [now in the millions] of miles of driving experience.

Yah, I've noticed my eyes are slowly starting to go on me, the whole readers now if I wanna see anything within a foot of me (ie hobbies. work, etc etc). Also, the light sensitivity thing is annoying. I'm one that hate those ultra-bright one as well. I'll look down whenever I see those damn thing coming down the road when I'm walking to work.

I am trying to look up things about our vacation this summer. Gov't websites are...not the friendliest things to navigate. It also doesn't help that some links just loop you back up to the beginning of the page you're already on up to the top. I counted and we're going to 5 different countries on this cruise so lots of things I want to figure out before we leave. Like are all my meds legal where we're going?

If it's in a prescription bottle or manufacturer's packaging with a prescription label then you won't have any problem carrying the normal amount needed for one person during your trip.  They won't even look at it.  Unless there's a reason you need to carry something on your person (like an epi-pen) leave all your meds in your cabin on the ship, take the doses in the morning or evening as needed.  Most of your day tours will have you back in plenty of time to take any pills you need to have before dinner time.

It's not a bad idea to pack ~3 extra days worth of medication in case of flight changes or delays.  It's increasingly likely you'll get stuck unexpectedly either going or coming back.  It's also a good idea to have a few snack bars, some beef jerky or dried fruit in your carry on.  Most airlines provide very little in the way of refreshments or meals, even on trans-oceanic flights.   If you have an early flight home you may have to skip breakfast because nothing is open, not even the kitchen, or you may get stuck in the airport at midnight after everything closes.  Had more than a couple hotel room picnic dinners after flight cancelations.

That's some excellent advice. I always make sure to throw some granola bars at the very least into my bag.

Chaos Wolf has it right, I meant the head lights. I haven't encountered very many of the light bars.

Not yet, anyway.

Oh Yeah, 100% agreement on the headlights. I am rural, so I want the brightest high beams I can get. I've had enough close encounters with wildlife, but there needs to be a major reduction in power on the low end. (anyone who drives, on a highway especially ,with a light bar, should have it removed, and destroyed)

This is my big concern. I have stimulants that I have to take twice a day, once in the morning and once in the early afternoon.

There's a few people out there who use them responsibly.

For the rest, I can think of a very good place to put it.

Is it just me, or are there other people out there who detest those stupidly bright headlights that seem to be the current fad?

They give me migraines so they irritate the heck out of me. And that's all I'm going to say on that because I will rant and I don't want to go down that road right now.

Pun intended?

some place in need of illumination, as the sun seldom shines there?  I agree.

There are no recorded instances of sun shining in the location I have in mind without surgical intervention.

And on another note:  We have been re-admitted to the civilized world as the frozen pipes, thanks to the well controller shutting down,  have finally been thawed to the point where water will flow.

I love the trucks, especially in my summer car, which is...low.  I've had them get behind me, forget they are on high beam, and it's great.  They light up the countryside for miles.

Then they remember to low beam and BAM, instant daylight inside my car.

Great stuff there.

I also really love the either self installed upgrade kits, or poorly installed factory ones.  You know, the ones the jiggle every time they hit a bump, and because the light is so focused, so it's like super bright morse code.  Instant headache.......
