Ah, another week of basically being my own boss in the corporate structure. At this point why shouldn’t I go into business for myself? Oh, right. Benefits and don’t worry about payroll.

Also, that stupid comet hid from me again last night. I’m done with it.

Okay, question for the minds here: I saw some fabric that had a 1" square grid printed on it. The fabric was white with the lines being black. If you were to dye the fabric a light color, would the lines still show? Or would the dye erase them?

Chances are that any home dye job would not be strong enough to obliterate the lines, like if you used green or tan RIT in the washer.  How much coverage  you get also depends on whether the lines are dyed into the fabric, or screen printed with plastic based ink (like a t-shirt) in which case the dye usually does not cover that at all.

Also, what kind of fabric is it?  You want it to be cotton or some other natural fiber to take the color well, however there is a chance of slight shrinkage in the water bath(s) during the dye process.  You can dye synthetics, but there  is greater cost, and more safety procedures to follow.
