Really sleepy, all day.

What's the term for when it feels like the bottom drops out of your consciousness and you feel like falling a couple inches before it catches you again?

Sleep Attack?  I know what you're talking about but I can't quite name it.  I'm sure there's a german word for it....

I think the term you are looking for is a hypnic jerk [aka hypnagogic jerk].

Folks, if you haven't checked out the Google animation for today, 12/2, GO DO EET!!

They're celebrating the birthday of Jerry Lawson, the video game engineer who invented the video game cartridge...

Not only do they have multiple (awesome!) games for you to play - seriously, these things are like NES quality - but you can also modify them and create new games...

Do they have to change physical graphics / signage when they bump up the prices?

They should but that's not my problem.  I only have to help make sure the teller is charging the price they want, which is usually whatever their signs say.

Good news! My manufacturing engineer has zero clue what the upper level manager is talking about because parts still haven’t arrived to even start building the next vehicle. Fingers crossed that I get to go home Tuesday.

I showed up this morning and was told they’d just glued on my parts.

Glue with a 24 hour minimum cure. And could be up to 5 days.

So what am I doing? Sitting in a remote office with just my normal work to do.

Yeaaaaah. Thanks.

Work has a colouring contest, with two divisions (children, and adults).  Children they ask the age be put on, adults only if you want to.  We had a choice of three different things, so I went with the one I kind of sort of liked, and allows for the most terrorizing possible...

I've also been told I'm allowed to transfer it to different paper provided I keep the art more or less the same.  Yeah, uh, sure, I'll keep it the same, but Rudolph is probably going to be a lot more punk when I'm done drawing.... *whistles innocently* (because nothing says December holidays quite like goth punk Rudolph, right?)

Yeah, I'm gonna break in my Fabriano Mixed Media fat pad with... Rudolph... *laughs even more maniacally than a hyena*

I would just use the stock paper, but I really do like things to be a lot more durable paper wise, and standard copy paper (75gsm) isn't anywhere as nice as what I consider my basic workhorse paper (160gsm Mixed Media).

But yeah, it was this or derpy kinda drunk looking Santa or... Some sort of elf that I looked at for half a second and went nope.

Wait... Are you saying you are now literally getting paid to watch glue dry?

 That's just freakin' epic.

So problem child customer calls me two minutes after I go to lunch.  Call him back as soon as I get back from lunch, get his VM.  Crickets ever since then.

I have some woman who was repeatedly driving slowly up and down the dirt road next to my house, now she has parked by my fence and is wandering out into the recently harvested corn field across the road. I am thinking she's looking for a lost pet?

It's been slow this afternoon, other than waiting on my problem child, so I've been working on my Traveller campaign - detailing more of the timeline of events surrounding the missing mom Valeri's and her friend's & acquaintance's movements.  The boyfriend and the best friend have been hooking up on Monday nights, but having a tough time deciding what the heck Valeri is doing on Monday nights.

I was thinking about having her teach a class, but then that would create a whole new set of threads for the PCs to pull (and me to write). What would she do alone w/o her best friend and/or her boyfriend?

I'm tempted to do two versions (one more futuristic, the other realistic), and I shall definitely post them.  I'll also post the other piece you're waiting to see finished when I, uh, actually finish it ^_^;;;;

Oh, I wish! I didn’t get allowed to watch the glue dry!

Since the building is a closed area (no RF transmitters and no recording devices, thus no computer), I was dismissed to another remote building to “work”.  Surprisingly, I actually have worked. That work was also possible to do at the hotel. Or at home. In pajamas under a blanket while scratching fur babies’ heads.

But it gets better!

They determined that if the glue gets hard enough, we are go for assembly (rather than waiting for the full cure period; either/or is what they found). So we are green, right?

Eh, not so much. Ya see, there’s this Christmas party tonight, and, well, it’s likely that most people will be going to that, soooo…. Maybe. If the people who are on second shift don’t go to the party. Then things happen. Unless there’s not enough people. Then no.

But in the meantime, just sit tight in case we may have work for you to come and watch the other people work.

I was asking myself this question out loud in the car while waiting to pick my daughter up from school when it hit me.

Write a book!   Valeri will be writing a book.  Lot's of reason to be alone, but no one looking for her if she doesn't show up.

Now I just have to decide what the book is about. My notes just currently say "A grown up novel is how her kids describe it to the PCs"

feeling like Kristoff today... just had to tell a dealership that we won't be able to fix issues on his Server 2008 machine anymore, it is so over loaded that the start menu takes over 2 minutes to open after clicking on the button...

Sheesh, that's bad - is that because your software or database is full, or because they're running lots of other software on it, too?

We used to refer to that as 'hanging out, waiting for Justin' in the Navy.

(just in case)

And now they are thinking Sunday evening.

I’m dead. Cannot even. Floored. Blind sided.

And not a bit surprised.

Does that mean staying even longer than originally planned? I’m losing track.  A third extension?

Maybe go clothes shopping with all this unexpected downtime.
