Most of her issues are simply things not being configured correctly because she won't listen. If I had my way, we would simply stop taking her calls, or at least see if the phone system could implement a selective call forwarding that would forward her calls to a distributor in her area. 7

Something using area codes as the sort term might work. Forward calls from her area code to the nearest distributor by area code. GEM I'm pretty sure that the VoiP phone system we use has the ability to do some really fancy stuff like selective call forwarding, so specific numbers can be rerouted. It's a matter of getting management to implement, and it's a fight I'm not willing to take on when I can just invoke my exclusion clause.

(I got no xp with voip) Her number on sticky note, answer like bored receptionist (“can you hold please?”), put on hold without waiting for answer, …forward call to distributor. It’s a bit rude. But it is SOP for a lot of places I call.

Far future, people have separated into bands of time periods due to general unhappiness with modernity which had fizzled and stopped progressing when the computational limit of computers was reached. So there are medieval areas, renaissance areas, early 1700s, etc, all up through the highest tech periods (where the least number of people reside). There is a book out there (Although I can't remember the name at the moment) which had a similar idea. There had been some sort of disaster that had covered the world in "time zones" that only allowed technology up to a certain level of sophistication to function, and the borders moved, so you could be happily living in Electric Town only for the zone to shift and everything more advanced than a steam engine goes kaput.

Um, need to be more specific here. What kind of steam engine are we talking about? Is it reciprocating piston engine or steam turbine? And are we talking about the steam engine as a propulsion unit or specifically Steam Locomotives? Even with Steam Locomotives you could still be talking Steam Turbine Technology. It can do a lot of fancy stuff, 90% of which I haven't figured out (I still don't know how to properly transfer a call back to the dispatcher). 2 hours ago, Mad Jack said: "We're sorry. At one point I considered perfecting a "foreign" accent and just pretending that we had contracted an overseas call center. Just need to get through today, and I'm off on a mini vacation for my birthday. We're going to go explore Kansas City. My son is currently on a back to back patrol on his sub - have barely had any communications with him since he was home at Christmas time. Got an email from the Ombudsman (civilian liaison between crew and family) that they get to do a mail drop (where we can actually send him some physical items), so have to finish packing that up and get it out today.

GEM Entire KC metro area - we're staying in Liberty, but have places we want to go visit in Merriam & Overland Park on the KS side and Independence & Oak Grove on the MO side, plus some museums in KC MO proper. Sorry, no ribs. I'm more a Taco guy than a BBQ guy, and while I like BBQ, neither my wife or daughter are. I did discover that KC has something called the KC Taco Trail though. 4
