GEM From what I remember, the book never got that specific about the tech limits (For probably very good reasons), it was more the electric areas were vaguely 1950's while the steam ones were generic Victoriana. haldir Posted March 11 Share Posted March 11 So Friday morning our load was extremely late, like it showed up at 830ish in the morning, Whoops! I called the warehouse around 430 or so to see where the truck was & finally got someone. Normally it's an answering machine (WT???) & the guy then put me on hold for like 20 mins. While waiting for him, I was on the floor working backstock from the back. That is anther rant, but I'll save that for anther time. Anyways, the guy finally get back to me & said the GPS showed he was in Meridian, ID, specifically at our sundries center & it hasn't moved in quite awhile. Apparently, there was no driver attached to this truck at the moment. It sat there for quite awhile too. The guy at the warehouse said the truck had 4 stores on it & of course we were the last stop (as we always are). Afterwards, co-worker & I were like eh, it'll probably show up like 5 to 10 mins before 8 (our 8 hrs). Luckily it didn't & we punch off for the day. 3rd guy & whoever had to unload & do everything that I normally do, ha ha. The new store director (guy has been there before as a grocery mgr) had to figure something out as the ast sd & grocery mgr were both not there yesterday. Again, as I've said before, gotta love our transportation department!!! Me, I'm just counting the days till my vacation. As, next Weds when I punch off is when it starts.
