My wife just told me if I don't get off the computer and start helping her around the house, she's going to slam my head into the keyboard.

It's ok, I'm sure she's just jokicue93yhgerugtp4ybgtfy4'3w8tb42UGF/4 wy9tq/7tp47t[

You may have heard reports on the news about the "oceanic river" that is putting rain and snow on California, and Northern Nevada.

I've been watching our normally dry lake visible from our back porch/patio with interest all winter long.  The land sailors who use it in the summer when everything dries out are going to have good times this summer as we currently have an actual lake of from two to five foot depth [estimated from how much sagebrush is still visible above the water] stretching for nearly two miles length.

All of our snow below the 5000 foot level has melted and drained into the low area that forms the dry lake we're at just over 4300 feet] and there is another heavy storm on the way for tomorrow through Tuesday.

Meanwhile, at Lake Tahoe they have had an estimated 50 feet of snow total and merchants are wondering where they are going to put any more as their parking lots have pretty much been filled up with skip loaders pushing and piling the stuff already on the ground as high as they can manage.  Tahoe is most likely going to be full to the overflow point when all the white stuff above 7000 feet melts.

"Fun" Times.

Meanwhile, in Virginia City they are having the 32nd Annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Festival and Saint Patrick's Day Celebration.

Don't worry everyone, his cat just happened to walk across his keyboard. On an unrelated note, Chaoswolf is temporarily unavailable. Nothing to see here, move along, move along.

Note the For Rent sign:

I guess there just aren't enough people in Norman, Ok. willing to turn in their Stetson for a colander.

Sadly, Yes.

All in favor of permanent Standard Time please signify by raising your hand -

and using it to throw your alarm clock across the room.

If you want more "daylight" after you get off work you need to get out of bed an hour earlier and arrange the work part of your day accordingly.

DST stinks.

Just pick one and stick with it.  Can't decide if it's better standard or saving?  Split the difference and make a half-hour adjustment.

Just.

Stop.

Switching.

Agreed, pretty much everyone hates it.  I always have one clock somewhere with the wrong time, because some are harder to change than others so I spend half a year mentally adding or subtracting an hour.  But, knowing it was coming, I spent this past week waking up a few minutes earlier each day so I can get up on time tomorrow.
