RTB Pro-Tips! SKU#30068 Burgermeister! 3-20-23.  Started at 11:35 AM.

ETA: Anne spent quite a bit of the stream talking about the release of her new book.  She is looking for feedback from early readers so she can fix any errors she might have missed, as well as Amazon reviews.  When she gets enough reviews, she can do advertising.  You can find her book on Amazon under AE Becker, "East of the Sun."

Very convenient... If your flight is two hours or less:rolleyes:

When I was doing Rocky Horror, I once drove fourteen hours down to West Virginia, spent about fourteen hours there, and then drove fourteen hours back home again...

Just looked (already said no). Two hours  forty minute flight. Arrive two hours before and then give an hour for luggage and a car. So five hours of travel for five hours of meetings, of which only two hours of agenda was worth going for. Nah.

Oh! Forgot the one hour of travel TO the airport. Even worse.

Beyond the Kit with Rhonda Bender! #078.  Start screen up at 1:47 PM.

ETA: Rhonda got to show off her new setup for a new camera she is using now.  She has one camera for her palette and the new one for her miniatures, plus she said she has different hardware running them.  Everyone who commented seemed to think the new camera was showing details and colors better than the document camera she was using before.  She also explained she didn't have her show last week due to tweaking her back, but she seemed to be okay today.

Happy first day of spring!

They just gave the weather report and we are supposed to be getting snow measured in feet in the Sierra and snow measured in inches on the valley floor.

And I've so been enjoying walking on dirt for the last few days.

For the fourth time in six months, one of our credit card processors did some sort of server update on Friday night/Saturday morning that broke at least 3 dozen of our site's ability to clear credit cards.

I was unavailable for the weekend this time, and instead of fixing things correctly on the calls that came in over the weekend, the on call tech did a quick setting change to put them in offline mode, and left things for me to handle this morning.

Dispatch is upset with me because I'm refusing to take any Canadian calls until I'm all caught up on this.

Customers are upset with me because the company cannot afford to eat the service costs yet again (fourth time this has happened), and I now have to generate an invoice for every site I fix.

Our processing company rep is upset with me because I'm billing customers AND telling them to complain to him.

At least one distributor tech is upset with me because I told him there was no way in heck I could help him with his programming problem today.

Right now, anyone upset with me can KMA.

<sigh>   Just stopped by for a quick minute to rant. Back to fixing problem sites and writing invoices.

The most important question is, "Are you happy with yourself?".

As long as you are happy, then everybody else who has no legitimate reason to be mad at you for some third party screw up, the situation is copacetic, and the rest of them need to re-evaluate their attitude.

You might want to suggest to management it's time to generate a list of both recommended and discouraged Credit Card Processors, and I would put the one who caused this screw up at the top of the list of those who are discouraged.  And I would footnote the reasons for discouraging the use of these companies.

You don't make a major update on a Friday Afternoon, especially when it is going to reverberate through other businesses who haven't been notified of the changes and will have their own operations impacted by the originators actions.

Good Luck

We do have a list of recommended providers, and I'm the one in charge of the US version.  There are literally thousands of credit card processing companies (all using the same 2-3 dozen platforms), but it's a lot easier if sites go with one of the half dozen providers on our list.

And there is the rub - this processor is the one that's been on our recommended providers list the longest.  I adore the company rep - he and I have been working together for almost 21 years.  And up until October, his company was IMO THE BEST for our customers to work with,. If it wasn't for these issues, they still would be.

Even though he's upset with me, he is just as frustrated as I am over this - as a sales rep, part of how he gets paid is on commission - he's doing everything he can to try and get this solved for me because his pay is dependent upon commissions - he'll take a fairly decent hit to his pay check if all these customers switch.

I don't know what I'm going to do - I hate to punish the rep for something outside of his control, but it may be all I have.

It is cold ( for Texas ) and windy here, as well as being cloudy. We'll be making some homemade soup for dinner, it seems appropriate given the weather.
