haldir
I kinda feel sorry for my players tomorrow night. We stopped last week as they were entering a very large room, dominated by a large pool of water. In the water will be a huge snake, but that is just the polymorphed form of a yuan-ti anathema. The highest form of the yuan-ti. They are hurting as far as amount of abilities they still have left. I think they wanted to long rest after an encounter, but of course it only had been probably 2 or 3 hrs after they rested before, ha ha. Only thing they can really do is short resting right now, which they did. I think their problem is they don't managed their resources per fight. I mean the cleric player keep slinging spells left & right. One of the paladin players uses his spells at higher levels (smites mainly). The other paladin player, doesn't really use his other paladin abilities besides lay on hands (thou he is the autistic player, which I understand why). The warlock player I think may be spent, with maybe, & I mean maybe 1 spell slot left. Rogue, I guess seems to be the player still well off, I mean you really can't lose spells or per day abilities, thou he does have some being a Phantom arch-type rogue. Thou his Wails from the Grave ability is kinda worthless vs 1 creature. If the ranger & more importantly the necromancer & his daughter, a life cleric can make it. I think they'll handle it with no problems. Due to his job, he hasn't been able to make it in quite awhile. I guess we shall see.
ShadowRaven
Not sure if I've said anything since before my body tried to kill me in a new and novel fashion (for me anyway) But I've got good news. 8 1

Are you going to let the dice fall where they may, or do you adjust things for the enjoyability of the game? Our GM very nearly had a TPK on his hands last time. Since it was an "off" night we were playing with only 3 people and not the full group. He surprised the characters with multiple simultaneous attacks that dropped a PC, our NPC guide, and wounded the cleric severely. That left 1 PC standing, with no healing skills. Our entire party would have been elfed, but he saw what had happened and introduced some convenient coincidences, like a healing potion hidden in the robes of the NPC. I am pretty sure he intended more combat but the encounter was too deadly., so he held off Luckily we figured a way to revive everyone eventually, otherwise it would not have been a fun night.

Sounds like you have a very good GM, more interested in seeing that everybody has a "good" time [for a given value of good] than in marking up another trophy. If your GM is Really Good tm there will be a time somewhere in the future when it is going all the parties way that will be used to balance out the scales of probability. Explosions were a common way of millers and bakers dying back in the day. 8

GEM 1) Grab the extinguisher in the adjacent compartment? 2) Snuff out the first extinguisher using the second. 3) Unhook the scorched extinguisher and use it to brain whoever coated it in a flammable substance and set it alight? I think that is a workable plan. 5 1
Moderator Chaoswolf Posted March 22 Author Moderator Share Posted March 22 I know you're kidding, but in seriousness, I wouldn't use that fire damaged extinguisher for anything. It's almost certainly been compromised in some fashion, making it a very hazardous item. 4

I'm all about the story, so I'll decide with my dice. I will probably not use my DM-friendly-killer PC creamsicle dice tonight thou. My players hate those dice.
