Back in... 1991(?) a friend of mine who did S gauge railroad modeling picked up a bunch of S gauge deep ones, and modeled the Innsmouth branch of the B&M railroad. Reviresco for the figures, I think. Both cardstock models for the boats as well as metal for the fishmen from the same company, don't know if Reviresco is still around.

As I delve more into the modular N-scale world, I'm finding my idea of adding futuristic/fantastic stuff to my modules isn't really that unique of an idea.  I've found tons of photos of modules with toy dinosaurs, crashed UFOs, Star Wars ships & figures,  Gundam robots, War of the Worlds ships & figures, HG Wells Time machine, even WH40k models - heck, I even found a module that was Barbie and Ken as if they were operating a model railroad running through their living room.

The only unique thing about my idea right now appears to be the use of CAV models specifically.

ETA; Oh, and Tardis & The Doctor.   I can't believe I forgot that one. It's surprising the number of modules that appear otherwise "normal" that have a little blue police box tucked somewhere.

It appears this is going to require a very special tool in order to correctly accomplish the instructions:

What, you don't have one of those really long pipe snakes with the retractable grabber thingies on the end? ::P:

Back in the late '80's, when I first started to get into painting, there was a bubblegum machine at one of the local supermarkets that, for 50 cents, would spit out a plastic bubble containing one of seven different small sprues of 4 or 5 random really-damn-close-to-N-scale modern figures, which were fairly well-detailed for their size... They lasted about five months in that one machine, and I have never seen them again in my entire life nor been able to find any information on them...

I spent about five dollars on trying to get a complete set, which was a fair amount of money for me at the time, but I didn't do anything with them at the time, and they soon got lost, or "cleaned up"/thrown out, or the house ate them, cuz it does that.

Man, that would be cool to run across.

At one point, I also briefly had hold of a catalogue of stuff like that, cheezy little widgets companies could order for bubblegum machines... It was like the paper version of those Chinese websites that won't let you buy less than 10,000 of whatever it is you're looking at.

I'm sure there are persons who will, for a small fee, carry out the instructions as written.  😄

For those who don't follow the Twitch broadcasts, Reapercon badges are supposed to go on sale at the end of the month.  No VIP badge this year, only 4-day, 2-day, etc.  Meet&Greet probably at hotel under a separate ticket.  Swag bags available to con attendees (may be leftovers after the con) and swag boxes with different stuff on sale on the web.  No details on what's in them yet.  Volunteer, teacher and vendor info coming soon.

Thank you for letting people that don't watch the show know what's going on. Odd that there is no VIP ticket this year. Hmmmm

This definitely applies today; there's a pretty intense thunderstorm here right now.

Read on the news that a tornado or a semi-tornado touch down near Decatur. I had heard of that city before, but I had to look it up. Pretty much the road that separates the Walmart & the RCon hotel parking lot is the road to Decatur.

Stay safe!

As I was in amusement and vending in the 90s, I used to have access to several catalogs like that as well.  Quite fun to browse through.

When I worked at the family fun center, we had "shopping days" for the skee ball ticket counter prizes, where the manager, assistant manager, the head cashier and two lucky randomly picked employees got to sit down with one of those company sales reps, and place the prize order for the upcoming season.  The company sales reps would show up with bags and bags full of samples.

Why do the last 30 minutes of the workday feel like they're taking 6 hours days?

Well, Pathfinder game is off for tonight. The GM just sent me a message saying he dropped a washer on his foot at work & it was still throbbing. I don't blame him for cancelling, but I really wanted to play tonight. Now it's anther 2 week wait to see if we'll play or not.

I guess I can use the time, to see if I can remember where some minis I picked up in Nov or Dec for an upcoming "Rookery setting AL" game for my Weds players. You'd think a Roper miniature (whether it's a Reaper or Wizkids) would be easy to spot!

One of the best job perks I ever had was when I was the assistant manager of the Sweet 'N' Nutty candy cart at the local mall - once a week I'd put in the order for more candy, and I got to order stuff for myself as long as I put in the money for it. ::P:

I once ordered FIVE POUNDS OF POPCORN-FLAVORED JELLY BELLY JELLY BEANS...  ::D:::D:::D:

About to head out and go see They Might be Giants perform their album "Flood" in it's entirety. I see a decent amount of live music, but I'm seriously geeking out for this one. TMBG puts on a great show and it's been a very long time since I last saw them. It's been long enough that when I went to put on a concert Tshirt from the last time I saw them it was from the days when I had a fairly different body shape. Either it shrank or I grew. Anyways, here's the album if you'd like to check it out...
