There's too much WOOF and MEOW on this forum.  I hereby stake a small claim for rodentia.  Hail the officers of the Guinea Ladies Association for Decorum, Imagination, and Science.  Otherwise known as the GLADIS Knights.

Some of the order, and their trusty riding capies.

Oh no, I'm quite well acquainted with how that works, believe me.

I had my chance to be a RAWK STAR! quite a few years ago now. We were in a bar that was doing karaoke, and my friends were trying to get me to go do a song. I resisted for several hours, but eventually, after a fair bit of liquid courage, they finally convinced me to go do "Seasons in the Abyss" by Slayer. I figured I could handle that one; I knew the lyrics and the accompanying instruments would help to hide my awful voice.

What I forgot, was that the intro to that song is approximately 2 minutes long and is all instrumental. That two minutes on stage waiting for the singing to start seemed like it lasted for about 2 years. In the interim, I started headbanging and air guitaring like a madman to give myself something to do besides stare at the people staring at me. When the song was finally over, everyone clapped, though I'm not sure if it was because they actually thought I did alright or they were glad it was finally over.::P:

I haven't dragged Grump to karaoke in YEARS.

He's actually good at it.

One of my first hints that I was getting my acrylic claws into him. He didn't like karaoke, but he'd come so I wasn't drinking alone. I was drinking too much then.

They had "Secret Agent Man" and "Little Red Riding Hood" on the machine, and DAMN he was good!

When you drag your man to karoke and he wins, it's WUV!

I was thinking about that episode of Next Generation where the aliens speak only in metaphors.  You know, "Shaka, when the walls fell."  That one.  And I was like, that's so weird.  But then I got to thinking some more, and my head caught fire.  But after I'd put that out, I realized that it's basically how I used to have entire conversations with my buddy Harry back in the 90s that were made up entirely of Simpsons quotes.

Also, the reason for this post was I wanted to let people know that Robert Kennedy of Typhoon Painting is having a 20% off sale on paint racks & such, but more importantly he is having the sale to help his community of Little Rock, Arkansas as it was hit by a category 3 tornado recently. He is matching the price of items sold with a donation of his own.

Here is the email I got from him.

"

I live in Little Rock Arkansas!!

Please help me help our community!

Please and forgive me, but I really need to ask for
your help if you wouldn't mind.
(First, thank you for the outpouring of emails sent to me knowing I live here! You have been exceptionally kind and supportive in your prayers and comments!)
As most of you know from the news or social media, Central Arkansas was devastated with the severe category 3 tornado which tore through Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Jacksonville Arkansas as well as many other areas as the storm pushed through the country. You've probably seen it on the news or your type of social media. I have lived in Little Rock Arkansas for almost 50 years and I've never seen the devastation ever that this tornado has caused our community. Graciously, my wife, son and I were spared any damage to body or property. It is amazing that the death toll and injury rate has been higher, however there several dozen at least still trapped in buildings
(Please pray for all the involved if you do that! Thank you!).
Please take the time to help me with the following!

I have marked all paint rack products down 20% on the site. When you purchase one, I will match and donate an additional 20% of all total purchases of paint racks/products to the Arkansas Red Cross which is overwhelmed at this moment. Since I provide free shipping, This is Most all of my profit, but the people around here need it.
It's the only way I could think of to help generate income for people whose homes have been destroyed, family and friends injured, or even killed, and also the emotional support, food, and housing that the Red Cross
provides in times like these.
The American Red Cross website posts the following,
"The Red Cross disaster relief focuses on meeting people's urgent disaster-caused needs. When a disaster threatens or strikes, the Red Cross provides shelter, food, health and mental health services, and bulk distribution of needed items to meet the basic human needs of those affected."
Now, If you just wish to donate directly, that's great and here is the link to go to that donation section of the Red Cross site online:

https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation.html/

The only reason I am posting our banner with our products is because some people may receive this email/message and may not know who we are.

I'm so sorry for the long post and it can't possibly tell you how I feel. However, if you've known anybody involved in a natural disaster, I'm sure you do!

Thank you for any help you can give us. For every order I see, I am humbled.

All my thanks to everyone and kindest regards to all mankind out there.

Robert Kennedy"

Robert is a stand up guy & boon to the miniature painting hobby. Actually being able to interact with him at ReaperCon over the years really enforces that. He is a fan of the hobby. Also, I sent him a email after my order to not adjust the shipping cost (as noted, his shipping is free). Just something more to help out on my end.

I had reason to investigate the American Red Cross as part of a larger investigation into Non-Profit Organizations in general as part of taking a standing committee of our fraternal orders from committee to full IRS recognized Non-Profit Organization status.

What I discovered at that time was the ARC has a large bureaucratic structure that is compensated above the norm for organizations of this type.  If asked for a recommendation on a similar organization to support I will immediately respond with The Salvation Army.  Much of their work at all levels is performed by volunteers or by paid staff who are compensated well below the remuneration their services would command for similar work in other fields of endeavor.

Before writing that check or providing the information on your debit card, please do your own research and act accordingly.

Not to get political, but that is one organization I will never support.

I will just end it there.
