I have decided I need to buy more greek hoplites with vertical spears because my cat keeps getting on my paint table. There are bright red splotches leading down the hallway that I can't get off the floor. At first, I wondered what they were, but they are the same distance apart as a cat's stride.

Please say the hoplites were painted red and it's not kitty bleeding.

Hey, everyone please be careful out there.

I was involved in an accident this morning on my way to work. I swerved to avoid a head on collision, but still got clipped. My car is pretty messed up; waiting on the insurance folks to come out and determine the path forward. I don't particularly feel like discussing it beyond that.

The other guy ran, so I sincerely hope karma catches up with him soon.:grr:

I'M FINE. It's been about 5 hours since it happened, and I'm feeling a little sore here and there, but I figure that's because the seatbelt did it's job, and now that the adrenaline has finally worn off I'm feeling it. Don't worry, I'm not stupid, if I begin to feel at all bad, I'll seek medical help.

I don't generally post about personal stuff like this, but with Ed Pugh passing away last week and now this, I just wanted to remind everyone to be careful. I don't want to hear about any of you being injured or worse.

Like I said, I'm ok, so don't be sad, just be careful.

Now go paint something!

If it’s electronic, agreed.

I got the idea (perhaps wrong) it is a physical printout. (Because of the faxing…)( ?? )

These days, most of them are electronic.  For most of these sites, it should be a simple cut & paste into an email, or attaching a file they already saved.

Back in the day, when they had to be printed and faxed, the narrow receipt paper would usually have to be cut apart and taped to regular paper in order to be faxed.  And then most sites didn't have a fax machine at the wash site, so they would generally have to find a fax machine to use/travel to another location.    These days, most everyone carries a phone with a camera and email capabilities.

So what prompted the post yesterday about reports was an email exchange between another tech and a site he was dealing with.  Our tech kept asking the customer to email a copy of the report to him, and the guy  answered back "Can you call me?", followed by "Can you just call me?" and finally "Can I call you then?" before he finally sent over his report.  I ranted here before we actually got a report from him last night, but get this - when he finally sent his "report", it was a phone picture of a PC Monitor showing a spreadsheet someone else had been hand entering data into.  We assume they were entering that data based on reports printed/downloaded from our system, but who knows which of our reports they were using, or even which line items they were pulling the numbers from for the spreadsheet.

And that perfectly illustrates why we want to see the report before we talk on the phone about them.

In other "news", I made a bunch of these "Video Mail" handouts for my Traveller game on Sunday:

This one is from the Agent also looking for the missing mom of the kids the group have in their care.

They're going to receive messages from 4 different people about the kids and Valeri.  Three of the four are looking to use the kids to get to Valeri.   Two of the four are looking to silence Valeri.  I'm very curious to see which of the messages the group responds to.  Will they choose the one that lets them deliver the kids safely to their mother? Or will they gleefully hand them over to someone who will happily kill the kids along with their mother?
