TheAuldGrump
We are at the Mayor's Inaugural Ball tonight - I managed to snag some tickets from someone that didn't want to go. My thinking was 'Ball.' 'Dancing.' 'Ballroom dancing!' When we came in, they were playing Let's Get Physical'.... Which at least put a smile on Megan's face. She is in the ladies' room, prettifying herself. I should have bought a clue - the last time I hear the band - Plush - they were playing the Ghostbusters theme. Dinner, dessert, and dancing. Her mum is watching the wee one. The Auld Grump 3

Make things more efficient. I have so many ideas about ways to Amuricanize* the game. I at least learned what some of the previously cryptic numbers in the scores tables mean this time around. *More scoring of goals. Moar.

It's been about 5 hours since it happened, and I'm feeling a little sore here and there, but I figure that's because the seatbelt did it's job, and now that the adrenaline has finally worn off I'm feeling it. Really glad you are OK. You are OK ?? Sorry about the car. 4
Pegazus
Sitting here working on one of my random hobbies (trying to see constellations from other stars), and it occurred to me that the problem I'm currently working on is how to rotate the universe. Not a normal thought. But entertaining.

Star Trek in all its iterations just hand waves this technical feat as an easy routine thing. It is how they figure out they’ve been dragged 50 lightyears off course (or whatever the plot calls for).

Don't worry, I'm not stupid, if I begin to feel at all bad, I'll seek medical help. I don't generally post about personal stuff like this, but with Ed Pugh passing away last week and now this, I just wanted to remind everyone to be careful. I don't want to hear about any of you being injured or worse. Like I said, I'm ok, so don't be sad, just be careful. Now go paint something! Good to hear you aren't injured. Hope insurance will cover the costs and that the guy who ran either comes to his sense and report to the Police himself or get eaten by coyotes... 13 hours ago, TGP said: Commiserations 🇳🇱 Netherlands 🇳🇱 You had a good run. 2 all tie, but lost in a shootout. Oh well. @Glitterwolf and @Brutus Thanks, to be honest, I already suspected to lose from Argentina. I mean our Queen is from Argentina and our King didn't stand a chance when he met her, so....it was meant to be. 3 2

haldir
I really shouldn't read comments on forum boards & such. I do know why I don't ever post or really read DnDBeyond's forum now... I love D&D, but I don't like reading fanatics aka players of the game with their holier then thou stances towards things. I went looking for some comments gear towards the new Dragonlance book & pretty much just got Spelljammer sucks out of most of them that had DL in them. While I agree, there could be allot more source material (bigger page counts for the books would have helped) but yah there is older edition SJ out there that people can draw upon. Either way, just a couple of hours I'll never get back. So far I'm liking the new DL book, again still I'm not getting a DL vibe from it, yet. One thing thou that kinda of bothers me, is I feel like I'm being forced-fed females in major roles (kinda like the same sex kiss at the end of SW: Episode 9). It seems like like every character in charge is female in this book. I'd rather see it more mixed & equally balanced out myself. I got the same feeling from the last Pathfinder Adventure Path I subscribed too (back in 1st edition, Azlanti something) & it was the reason why I stopped subscribing (among other things, but not the main reason). Again, I'm liking the adventure & I'm debating on making this my next Saturday home group adventure when Witchlight ends (which hopefully won't be for awhile), as DL was my traditional fantasy campaign back in my high school days, but there would be some huge changes in store when I run it.

Thank you, on both counts. Yes, it's been a little over a day since it happened and I think my initial self assessment ( I'm fine ) is correct. I'm sore from the seat belt and the impact, but otherwise I feel as good as I usually do. The car is just a thing (granted, it's a rather important thing); hopefully insurance will see to getting it repaired. I'm just glad that I had enough time to react to the situation and get (mostly) out of the way. 10 hours ago, Pegazus said: Sitting here working on one of my random hobbies (trying to see constellations from other stars), and it occurred to me that the problem I'm currently working on is how to rotate the universe. Maybe. Daughter’s small parking lot scrape estimate was $3k on a $12k car. Probably could pull the dent and buff the scratches myself. You might be totaled. The owner of one of the wife’s craft stores had a small head-on in that Porsche SUV. Slow enough that it cracked a bumper, scraped two doors, tore off a mirror. All fixable. But it popped the airbags. Those cost more than the car was worth so totaled. Quote That's some super-villain thinking there! Sounds super villainous. In reality, I am try to convert the coordinates of the stars such that the galactic plane is straight and un-Terran oriented before changing them all to XYZ cartesian coordinates. Didn’t find any easy way of rotating spherical coordinate systems, and my brain was just barely too tired to do it myself. I can see that the rotation will be a circle on a multitude of planes normal to the axis between us and Sagittarius A*. So it might be simple to rotate the universe. Just need to think more. Then I will start worrying about the next problem: finding faint stars visible by eye from the exoplanets I want to see the night sky from. Think I will be spending a significant amount of time in star catalogs.

haldir
There we go - Dragonlance: Shadows of War. Players encounter Lord Soth & his backstory. Also a dragonlance appears as well. Now this adventure is getting familiar. Next chapter they encounter Dalamar, who is not like he is when you read about him in Chronicles.
