RTB Pro-Tips! SKU#30090 ReaperCon Dungeoneer Sophie! 6-1-23.  Started at 11:36 AM.

https://www.twitch.tv/reaperminiatures

At the end of the stream there was a vote for upcoming minis to paint.  There were two selected out of the three offered.  First place was Alistrilee, Elf Archer SKU 30084 (Bones USA Reaper Legends).  Second place was Mellonir Windrunner, Elf Warrior SKU 07026 (Bones USA Dungeon Dwellers).  The picture of Mellonir doesn't show it, but the shield has a pretty tree sculpted on it.  Good choices if you like elves, both by Bobby Jackson!

In case anyone was wondering (and I'm sure you all were just dying to know this), this is the latest in man portable fish shocking technology. You can electrocute so many fish with this bad boy. Don't worry though. That man is a professional and knows just how much juice to run through the water to stun the fish and not actually kill them. Pretty handy for taking fish counts in small streams. The old models had a small diesel generator on them and were loud, smelly and hot. These just beep a little bit when they're on. You don't want to get in the stream with this guy when he fires it up though. It's kind of like getting smacked in every part of your body at once. We bio-nerds get all the fun toys.

Stress level just zoomed upwards. Got asked if it was okay that a part was marked with .25” tall lettering.

Drawing note says to mark it with lettering a minimum of .125” tall. Last time I checked, .25>.125. And mind you, we spelled it out just as shown here. We didn’t write “eighth of an inch” or ‘1:8”’. No. It was 0.125”.

I am getting real sick and tired of nobody willing to make a decision on things. Have they really been that abused to where they cannot follow instructions as written?! And I am wondering where in the world my company hides all the good, competent employees. I need to find them and work with them.

So. To get an engineering drawing released takes a lot of group signatures. Checking, drafter, materials, manufacturing, quality, engineering, then whoever is needed based on that drawing. During the morning tag-up to help coordinate and push people to sign things, one group was having issues finding the right person to sign.

DH has been told that ANY changes require 3 different RFC's (Request for Change forms) to be filled out and approved.  The big change he needs to make this week: correct a misspelled file name.

Sound like a handy gadget to have on hand for a weekend fish fry with the guys.

*sigh*

The hits just keep coming. Mom just texted that she won’t be able to make the annual family vacation. Step father fell in April and got home from rehab this last week. But, since he hasn’t been doing his PT as he should, he can’t get around enough to go.

He simply doesn’t take care of himself and these injuries since his stroke 4-5 years ago keep coming. Very sad and frustrating.

Sounds like it's time to "suggest" a raise is in order if you are going to have to make these executive level decisions.

Also, more compensatory time off to deal with all the increased stress this is causing.

They can but shop carefully.

After my "accident" it was necessary for me to use a scooter for a family trip to Disneyland.

The rental had donut wheels/tires and no suspension.  This was incompatible with the contoured pavers that have been laid down on most of the walkways in the park.  The cumulative jolting became very painful to deal with by mid-afternoon.

For comparison, the parks rental scooters [which at that time were about half the price of a basic admission] had larger and wider pneumatic tires and a suspension system for the seat.

So the lesson is, if the family vacation will include visiting any place with similar paving arrangements you will need a more expensive scooter or somebody is not going to have a good time and will poop out early.

For that you want the boat mounted model we use for large river and stream surveys. It's so strong you can disable an intern with it.

My great-uncle, or "Crazy Uncle George" as we called him, took us out fishing one time in the middle of the night when we were kids and taught us how to "telephone the fish"...

(Yeah, he was that kind of "crazy uncle".)

The crank mechanism out of an old fashioned pre-rotary dial phone?
