Glitterwolf
Saturday the roofers will come for the roof of my offcie/hobby room. It seems not a moment too soon. I have no leaks inside, but it has been dry for days now and I noticed a few small holes in the bitumen, when you push on it there, a few drops come up. So there are leaks already. There is an older layer beneath that, then isolation and then the roof itself, so it's probably minor, but it's good to know it will all be repaired Saturday. I contacted the roofers and they assured me it will be as good as new when they're done. Maybe I had a premonition....I really wanted to have this roof done eventhough there were no signs of trouble before this. Thoramel
I got rooked into coming into the office today to help some new interns get set up and started. I'm not sure having the guy who stands around in swamps looking for cool plants was the best choice for getting folks set up on their computers. So instead, I've got them reading a couple of books on plant identification. And later this afternoon they'll be scrubbing and organizing old gear. Someone else can figure their computers out for them later this week. Provided they stick around after today that is.
Cranky Dog
Well that just happened... I'm replacing a mine equipment maintenance planner for summer. He finished last week and I started solo this morning. I was all ready to see my maintenance plan in action. But instead, I've learned that because of the forest fire smoke we're having everywhere, the smell of smoke is getting underground, which can be confused with a local underground fire. So all shift work has ceased for the past 2 days, meaning all my work is nearly for naught. 🌳🔥☁️☁️☁️ We're only getting our first heavy rainfall starting tomorrow, so my planning is still ruined for at least another 24 hours (smoldering smoke can last quite a while). P.S. It's weird seeing a red sun this time of day. Edited June 5 by Cranky Dog 2

Corsair
Well, I just got finished setting up to draw my Social Security payout. It will start in about 3 months. It will be nice to get back some of what I have been paying in since I was 15 and started a tax paying job!
