I remember being old enough to change the channel when it was on.

hah, no, I'm a bit far from that one, but it's not surprising that the issue is endemic to the whole area.

No, No, No, (just the opposite) last time I saw Weatherford Traffic Circle, cars were blasting along at full speed in that one.  It’s an oval.  Predominant traffic was Northbound.

But the little ones that are starting to crop up cause odd reactions.

Why does Australia care if CT has Moose?

Because Australia doesn't have any moose, so despite the fact that Oz is filled with giant radioactive poisonous mutant animals, that's one dangerous animal they don't have and I get to thumb my nose at them for it, lol...

I got sick just before Memorial Day and infected a goo number of my co-workers. Yesterday, I started coughing before bed and I haven't really stopped since. I seem to just get sick around holidays now. <_<

Apparently, a few days ago, the 6-ft-long black rat snake that lives down by the pond next to the parking lot at my job decided to pay us a visit - it went into a hole in the wall of the building frequented by a lot of birds, according to the second shift guys...  I'm told a day or two later they took it out of the wall and put it back in the pond.

I'm kinda sad I missed it.

 Fun Facts:

In CT so far this year there have been:

Almost 10,000 coyote sightings

2634 bobcat sightings

4677 bear sightings

and

85 moose sightings...

Estimates are that there are:

3000-5000 coyotes

1500 bobcats

1200 bears

and around 100 moose in the state.

(Take that, Australia!  ::P: )

Sounds about like my ranch! ::D: Ok I might be exaggerating a bit. We don't have any bears yet. Years ago we were having a fight with the government over game damage. We had roughly 500-600 elk on our land and the nearest neighbours. We had video of several different herds numbering roughly 200 elk each. The government rented a helicopter, flew over hundreds of kilometers of the province, counted around 100 elk and told us we were lying. Ever since then I've had serious doubts about "official" numbers for anything. They did open up a hunting season for elk in our area which scared the elk into a larger range instead of being centered on 3-4 farms in a tight cluster. Shared the pain out a bit.

Watched an old Western with Richard Crenna in it the other night, "The man called Noon". Written by Louis Lamour, I have now grabbed the actual novel and am going to re-read it after many years.

I probably have that one around here. Between Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey, Dad has enough western novels to keep you in trail dust and gun smoke for a decade.
