The shots in my "shoulder" yesterday weren't too bad.  Needles are always better when you can't see them.  She did just my left trap.  3 shots. I don't really notice any difference yet, but we'll see over the next few weeks if my left arm/shoulder seem any left awful.

Had forgotten she'd mentioned checking my arms too.  Nerve testing on both hands and forearms.  Boy do some of those zaps sting!! Moderate carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists, worse in my right arm.  Not really surprising as I've worked in IT for 30ish years.  I assume the right is worse as it is my mouse hand, even though I'm a lefty.  Right is also my primary flag waving hand for marshaling, which likely doesn't help either.

Supposed to pick up some braces to sleep in, since I often wake up with numb or tingly hands.

 

And headed to the hospital in an hour.  My wife is having surgery today.  Nothing too major, although my scale may have slide a bit on what is considered major since my cut my spine open and replaced chunks of it with titanium.....

I've been pretty good about writing the KS numbers on the bag. And I went light on Bones 5. Or so I thought until I looked at my pledge again. So, there's probably a big box around here with them all. I suppose I'll just have to let it stay at that level of mystery then. Huh.

I had to scroll back to find what had happened to the mailbox. I had mailboxes like this twice in my life. Once at some apartments and once at a house (they ganged several houses on one street together).

 

Looks like a remove and install procedure on the back doors will fix it.  I expected worse damage when I read vehicle collision. 

The frame is bent to hell and back inside. My box is on the bottom and is hanging partly out of the box when I open it up. Replacing the doors might work as a band-aid but it's going to need to be fully replaced at some point.

As for graveyard being bad for your health, it wouldn't be nearly as bad, if the rest of the world would accommodate us even a little bit. Since there "has" to be night workers, there should be sections of apartments, if not whole buildings, that have noise and the like on OUR schedule. Places need to be open later/earlier to help us eat better than fast food and junk food. Not much you can do about the health issues from being up at night. But, there is a solution: Maybe don't have a world where some people have to stay up all night. I would say more, but that's a very long, strongly worded rant that would also touch on things that we can't talk about here...

Why does 23A follow unit 44?  That seems odd. Is there a 23B also?

I know it used to be the assistant manager's unit. It's unique because it has a set of double doors. I think it might have been either the original manager's office/unit or maybe an old common room. If it didn't receive mail, because no one lived there/it went to the office, that would explain why they had to slap the A on it.

 

For an update, I reached out to USPS and have found out that my mail is being held at the post office. I tried calling the USPS line and ended up reporting the damage. But that's how I found out that the post office has the mail. HOWEVER, they didn't tell me which one, nor do I know what's going to happen for the packages I have labeled as "out for delivery" right now. I ended up getting sending a tweet (it will NEVER be X in my mouth) and getting a response there. Got the location of the post office but the number they gave me was wrong. I found the right number online. But they didn't know why there's no notification of where the mail is going. And I still have no idea where my package is right now. I have to wait for the post office to open to call over and see if they know what's going to happen... And my Reaper order is suppose to arrive tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll know what will happen before then.

Having worked either nights or a schedule heavily shifted to the dark side of the day for most of my life, I heartily concur.

"Regular" people garner all the benefits from people working nights.

"Night People" pay all the costs.

Have to agree, I'm naturally a night owl and I prefer the darker, quiet hours when the rest of the world is asleep... but they really do not give you the same considerations.

Agreed.  It's so odd that nightshift tends to walk quieter/slower, and make less noise at night so day shift roommates (and/or neighbours) can sleep but oh no, how dare the night shift inconvenience the day shift by asking them to not be noisy at 7am, or just show the same considerations...

Well, if its any consolation to the night shift workers, my space station plans always have several sections that are on different “times”.  The center hub with the services is always on, and always staffed by “day” workers. Just from different sections so nobody ever works nights.

 

Now to get on the that cheap space launch and ease of construction problem.

Same here.

I've been retired on disability for over 15 years but old habits do not change easily.

At 73 I still like dinner later and it isn't uncommon for me to still be up, about, and alert long after the clock has struck midnight.

Which makes it difficult to be up and about [and especially cheerful] at the time of day when others are getting a running start at the days activities.
