Jasper_the_2nd
So, I'm not sure what Lee's problem with me is, but as soon as I decided to not go to NS due to the impending hurricane, it hung a left to come visit me here in NB. For reference, Saint John is just about under that "S" the 8 PM Sat line is pointing to. So the good news is that I took today off. The Bad news is, it was supposed to be to drive to the race track....but everything got cancelled. So instead it is "pick up all the crap in the yard, fix those 2 downspouts I've been putting off, and cram my summer car into the garage" day. Still better than working......

You need to keep a spray bottle on your desk so that whenever someone comes up and starts whining you can squirt them like a misbehaving cat, lol. Also, here's a sign to point to while you continue typing instead of replying to them: Or get you a NO! button. I do not have NO! buttons, only stickers. *shrug* 6
CaptainPete
17 hours ago, kristof65 said: I can't respond to this the way I would like to, since there is no more beekeepers. But yeah, it sucks. We have a problem here in Des Moines with people punching out the screens on our tellers. But the reactions our local site owners are getting from the police are completely different. One owner, who owns four sites in Des Moines proper was told not to call about them any more, there was nothing they could do, and it was a problem that the manufacturer (us) needed to solve for him. Its a complicated issue - basically, people get mad if the teller doesn't arm the wash, give proper change, etc, and they punch the screen. But it's not just one issue, lots of different things can cause an issue with the teller, including operator error. The other owner has only one site in Des Moines proper, but gets five star service from the Des Moines PD each time. And his site, is only a mile as a crow flies from one of the other guy's sites, so same police substation. Same model teller and wash, too. But both have commented that the people who get busted rarely suffer any serious legal charges. Yeah, it's complicated and tough and I have very mixed feelings about the whole situation. My big bosses are currently pushing the DA to go up to Assault II, but they argued that a walking stick "isn't really a weapon." The victim (a boss) responded that it's probably the second oldest weapon. The first one is a rock. I have no idea if he got charged for the damage to the vehicle, but I did hear that he was arraigned. We'll see what happens from this point on. In another, and hopefully final, update on the mailbox issue, we have a new mailbox! It only took *checks notes* ten days! Of course, the boxes are just numbered, not with unit numbers, there's no notice of what's going on, and we haven't been given keys yet. So, effectively useless right now! I am not surprised. Now, I need to spend time getting things moved around because I really, really want to have my painting space set up this weekend.

Moderator Froggy the Great Posted September 15 Moderator Share Posted September 15 I forgot what I was going to say. So a couple friends from church and I are getting together tomorrow to push around some toy soldiers. What should we play?
Moderator Chaoswolf Posted September 15 Author Moderator Share Posted September 15 I hear that new game Frostgrave is kinda fun. ( I've played it quite a bit, and I really enjoy it) Or Stargrave if you're in a sci-fi mood. I've also heard good things about 12 Parsecs From Home.

Frost/Stargrave could be fun and only needs a 2x2, which is a very good thing. 12 Parsecs From Home I don't know about, but Five Parsecs From Home is excellent though solo. I've played (I think) most editions of it at great length and have running characters that keep showing up.

Read that and had immediate vision of the individual boxes crammed full of mail and with typical Post Office Efficiency [cue laugh track] nobody has received their key yet. Worst case scenario, the keys are concealed under the piles of mail nobody has the keys to access.

The S stands for Storm. Meaning below hurricane strength. The landfall point has steadily moved East from one graphic to the next.
Inarah
Free (you don't even have to sign up) temporary live hurricane tracking page: https://one.weatherflow.com/storm/lee?#46.687,-57.853,4,8 Just back from the county assessor's offices where I successfully argued for a lower home valuation (for tax purposes). The lowest bidder contractor they hired 4 years ago performed such a bad job they had to roll back evaluations to previous levels, and then they hired the same lowest bidder company last year with a completely AFU result again. Got our assessment knocked down from "ridiculous" to "fair". Thank you to every speech, debate, and public speaking instructor I ever studied under. Now, pass the rum, please.

It's not hard to find patches of forest that are exactly the same as they were 500 years ago before all the people showed up and began people-ing everything up... Absolutely!!! My (almost) daily walks are at a nearby wildlife refuge! It's been a great motivator for me to be careful with my hip. I can't be too fast and overdo it because it knocks me out for a few days, but I don't want to progress too slowly because then I don't get to explore new trails. My first date up here with the guy I'm dating now (the one you met at paint day) was actually coffee and a walk around a local state park -- and he suggested it! I was like, "alright, you and I are gonna get along just fine" 😆
