Just discovered that they've hired a second new person for our shift, which means that in two weeks it'll almost be like we're a real shift, lol...

I envy you so much right now...<_<

So... That boss is getting fired today. They were supposed to work last night but their fiance called out for them. If they weren't already about to get the boot, that would have been enough on its own. I almost had to work with them, the other boss had to call me and damn near beg me to come in and work with them. And then, as I was heading out, I got the call that they had called out. So long, good luck, don't let the door hit you on the way out!

And things got bad last night. As all companies, we have some monitoring app on all of our phones and tablets. Ours, however, is an actual parental control program. And, last night, at a11pm, our parents put the phones and tablets into a curfew. No apps would open. No PTT, no clocking in and out, we couldn't even make a phone call. I had about a dozen people who's phones that were little more than very expensive paperweights. And we're not supposed to carry our personal phones while on the clock. We had to call the tech guy and get him to fix it. From what he said to me, the app had updated and the curfew was default. I'm wondering how much longer we're going to keep using the app. Probably a few more years.

Oh boy. Two hour Agile training online. There are six people on the call. One is the instructor and one is the coordinator. So that’s four students that includes myself. The training is meant to be interactive and the poor instructor is flaming and crashing with that. I have been talking as I can (new on the program so not a lot of input).

He can’t get the other three to come off mute.

Not a good sign.

I feel your pain. Hopefully you are in a shop that can actually utilize it effectively rather than pay lip service to it.

My week of minor annoyances continues, taking the Housemate for a walk during a break in the rain and some moron in a truck decides to play the old "Lets see how big a splash we can make" game and deliberately veered into a giant puddle right next to us.

Luckily we were on our way home, but still had an extremely soggy mile or so to go.

Nah. They are pushing to deploy to X number of programs and showing that they saved $X money. They way the programs are using it is to take tasks from MS Project, make Stories from that, update things once a week in Agility, then sending the updates back to the planners and MS Project.

The instructor claimed that adopting Agile would allow us to improve our projects but never got into the details of how that’s supposed to happen. Maybe the videos he links will explain.

How hot is that compared to the current Super Squirell outfit? You were about medium well at our game that night.

I have no idea.  It has a fan, but that is to inflate the darn thing.

There are several stores here in Winterset that sign could apply to.

We have an antique store here that I literally have never seen open in the 6.5 years I've been here, but the merchandise in the window keeps changing, so they must be doing some business.

There used to be a bottle shop in Portland (they sold bottles - old bottles) that was only open when he wasn't driving his taxi.

He owned the building, so didn't worry about making rent.
