Me: What report are you referring to? What number on the report? What is the time frame of the report? Can you email me a copy of the report? Why do you think it is double? If this fellow got twice as much money as he expected . . . why is he upset? Did he ever say if the number was dollars, or gallons, or minutes???

That was a good laugh. I once gave a tolerance of 60 inches ± 1 inch. Part came back at 58.75 inches. I did not enjoy writing that quality report. I may have been a little harsh. For reference, Carpenters work to tighter tolerances. A Cabinet Maker would kick a specification like that back to the one making it and demand a tighter tolerance before cutting the first piece of wool. Marvin
Troll Lord Games is doing a flash sale to clear out their 5e stock, if that’s anybody’s bag… I’ve been divesting myself of 5e goods, but I felt compelled to snatch some stuff up.

sumbloke
I've been bomb checked twice in one day at the same airport without even flying. IIRC I was giving a friend a lift to meet their relatives. After we'd gone through security and I'd been bomb checked we found that we'd gone two hours early, so we headed off to grab lunch. Then when we went back I got bomb checked again.
Moderator Chaoswolf Posted January 6 Author Moderator Share Posted January 6 Yup, I saw the news story about the Iron Maiden stamps; I didn't know about the puzzles. The Motorhead tour truck is pretty cool, I wonder how it would scale with 28mm figures....

I sometimes see him & sometimes not, but he's a older man who is stuck in his ways. There is being stuck in your ways, and then there is just being an a** about it. This guy has two sites, and contacts us at least three times a week, often about petty stuff. 13 hours ago, Green Eyed Monsty said: The loud noise you heard just before the disconnect of the phone was the "customer" taking careful aim and shooting themselves in the foot. GEM Wouldn't be the first time he's done this. I think I'm going to have to review the exclusions in my contract, and put this guy on the list of customers I don't have to handle. 9 hours ago, TGP said: If this fellow got twice as much money as he expected . . . why is he upset? Did he ever say if the number was dollars, or gallons, or minutes??? I think he's upset because he thinks the report is showing more money than he actually collected. But without knowing what report he's looking at and what he's comparing, I have no way of helping him. There is a real common reporting mistake people can make with our equipment if they add two line items together. One of these line items shows the total amount of credit card sales the system has processed, while the other shows just the credit cards processed through a teller itself. So the 2nd number is included in the 1st. If you add the two together, you over report your income. So he could be making that mistake. Another mistake he could be making is trying to compare reports with two different reporting periods to each other. There are also some equipment wiring and programming issues that can lead to the system counting each coin 2 or even 4 times. There are also some other configuration issues that can lead to things being over or under counted. He didn't cooperate enough for me to even begin to determine which path to look down.

Most likely, the bay area was hit pretty hard and power is out in many areas. There's also significant flooding, making travel and clean up difficult.

Normal tolerance for my parts is around .007 to .030. This was for a test harness cable and I initially told them it needed to be 60” long. But they complained because they couldn’t sign off the paperwork unless a tolerance was given. So plus or minus an inch which they failed to meet. The harness was fine to use at that length but I had to write a quality report justifying the use of a part that did not meeting the engineering specifications. So they caused me extra work twice. Once to revise the drawing and again to write the report.
